Patrick:
Look into Richard Webster's commercial book Talisman Magic, also published as Numerology Magic. There is an abbreviated section in his book Readings as Entertainment on constructing personal magic squares (yantras) for readings (he refers to the previously mentioned book for more detail). Tony |

Hi guys! Doug here. I have had The MagiCard by Mark Jenest in my wallet for a number of years. The other day, an opportunity arose. Twenty-somethings. She picked a number between one and four. When I said to multiply it, she stopped me. "Oh, YOU'RE gonna make me do MATH! Eff that...!" Everyone walked off. I stood there looking like a fool.
Not feelin' too good about the whole deal, honestly. I need to really look deep into why I'm doing this... Doug |

Tony, I just got that book, actually! In the Numerology title. I've been looking more at the Chinese numerology book, though. Using it to fill out the Vitruvian Square, being a foundation to that rather wonderful tool. I just find myself liking the magic square aspect of the Natal Square. None of this is ready for prime time, but all of it is interesting.
Following on from Doug's experience, I suspect most short-visit clients will prefer palmistry over anything with numbers. My little tic sheets are pretty basic, but have been getting good responses. For quick impromptu opportunities, it does what I want it to do. Patrick |

Well, Tony, I will save you the effort of correcting me! I just looked in Webster's book and, sure enough! His method produces magic squares, too. Not just squares, as I misremembered. So, I'll be using that book as well as Dyment's book to inform one another as I play around with this. And may well end up with another reading tool in my wallet.
Thanks for reminding me of the other book! -Patrick |

It's not a 'fear' of maths. It's that math is not fun for most people to do, and very few scripts I have seen are engaging enough to encourage someone to do math.
Don't get me wrong, though - walking away in the middle of a trick is just rude. That's not something to take personally, that's just someone who has poor social skills.

I normally have a deck of cards and some index cards in my backpack. Haven't had much use for them, other than passing the time for my own amusement. The question was about what's in the wallet and my palmistry cards are something I do use regularly.

I carry A wallet with an internal p--k, inside I have hand writen cards for silent running, and a set up for Pablo Amira's safe bet. In my key ring I carry a little 3 dial lock, for a routine by Paul Brook. Also a pen in my pocket and some billets are handy.
My most performed impromptu effect is one by Phill Smith, a prediction writen in your hand. |

Tony, if you ever vacation in Fairbanks, let me know. I will feed you very well if you stop by to visit and chat about whatever you have in your pockets.

I carry a handwritten grocery list for a Penguin "Organic Choice" routine, and I am always ready to perform a version of a Eugene Burger effect with three imaginary coins and involving Equivoque,.
