Hey guys,

I just wanted to spread the word about this new work from Andreu and Ever Elizalde.

I was kindly asked by my friend Andreu to contribute something to this collection of p**ks and effects. After reading it, I was really impressed with the simple methods and updates on very old techniques.

I decided to share my "Difficult Ploy" technique from my book, "Positive/Negative" as I felt it fit well amongst the methods described in this collection (Not an effect in itself, but rather a tool to use within any reveal).

In any event, I highly recommend getting into Andreu's work as it is very well thought out, practical, and simple. While a lot of creators are pursuing more propless effects, Andreu and Ever are continuing in the footseps of Annemmann, Cassidy, Osterlind, and Banachek.

Thanks a lot for the review Watkins!

I would like to show a bit of how this p**k looks like:

You don't need a second envelope to perform it.

This is a secret I have kept to myself for years.

It's very practical for any kind of venue.

If you guys want to know about the other effects included, just visit the link mentioned above by Watkins or send a PM.

Cheers!

Several people have contacted me to ask me if the envelope is examinable.

The answer is YES, the spectator can hold the envelope. Smile

After you're done with the performance you can't leave it with them, but you can easily sw***h it if needed.

Enjoy,

Andreu.

I bought this a few days ago and I must say that I'm impressed! Well done Andreu!
I especially liked your peek envelope (which is very creative) and Ever Elizalde's "Locked Premonition" which is really practical and easy.
I do have, however, one question... but it relates to specific methods so I have pm'd you!

Thank you!

Thank you so much S. Lea. Smile

I'm very glad you like it.

I have posted a new video about The Devil's Eye.

The original video was more intended to show it's use for stage and this one allows you to take a much more closer look. Smile

Do not share the video with people outside of the world of magic or mentalism. It's private (as ALL my other channel videos) for a reason. Smile

I may add that this is not the only valuable idea in there, my friend Ever Elizalde has contributed some top-notch material and I want to thank him again for this.

Enjoy,

Andreu

This only works with cards? Or could it be a business card? If so, how much can you p**k?

Hey there Last Laugh,

It works for both cards or a business card.

If it's a business card you can tell them to write anything and p**k 90% of its surface area, I included several handlings and setups depending on what you want to do as well as performing conditions.

This idea has been in my mind since around 2014, it was only until now that I decided to release it.

If you have any questions I will be glad to help.

Guys, I have updated a couple of pages of the manuscript.

If you want to get SP now, I highly suggest sending me a PM rather than getting it at Penguin, as I need to update it with them and they're taking some time to get back to me in order to do this.

Cheers,

Andreu

I took the plunge on this, mainly because I was interested in the Devil's Eye envelope, but I enjoyed reading everything.

The Devil's Eye is indeed an interesting and different way to gimmick an envelope. After playing around with it a little, I came up with a slightly different way to make it that works better for me and overcomes a few slight issues I was having. It's might be a little easier to make as well. Feel free to PM I'll share my version (if you have proof of purchase of course).

The Difficult Ploy - a way to create the illusion that the spectator could have changed their mind. It's a versatile concept, and definitely useful. I saw that in Jan Forster's review he mentions that a seasoned performer may have already come up with this. While I have used similar concepts, this particular one had not occurred to me and I like it a lot. There are so many ways to get raw info, but ways to ice the cake so to speak are especially valuable.

Black Moon is Ever's version of Kurotsoke using an alternate, gimmick free methodology. It also has a nice 2nd phase which adds a bit of comedy and uses a nice bit of (light) dual reality. I probably won't use it personally, as I have another method I use, but it's very practical and it might be just the thing for you.

Extraordinary Perception is an ESP divination using stacks of cards. This one didn't really appeal to me, quite a lot of process to divine ESP symbols which are usually seen as only 1 out of 5.

Locked Premonition - I really like this one. It is fairly similar to 'Nod to Pocketwatch' by Looch, but is better suited for stage (though its totally fine for close up) and I honestly like it better. Simple, direct, easy to perform and a great kicker. Ever says he likes just removing the prediction from his pocket, but I think I would definitely use a wallet or envelope that has been on display the whole time.

Beyond that, there are two essays on approaches to mentalism. I generally agree with both of them, though I wouldn't say that either essay is particularly revolutionary. I think the opinions expressed are relatively standard for many performers. Nothing wrong with that, but I didn't read anything that made me think something different than I already do.

All in all a good read.

Hey Guys,

Andreu shared the Black Moon routine with me several weeks ago. The original Kurotsuke is something that is a part of my stage act now and again and so when I recieved the eBook and had two gig ahead of me I decided to try Evers's version! The basic routine has a similar plot as the original but the added phase really was what got me to try it out. It went great both nights and filled for me a bit more than 10 minutes of the show. The audience interaction is great and they liked this one as much as the original (if you ever performed Korotsuke you know exactly what I am talking about).
I don't personally know how often Ever did this one live but for me it worked really well and the lots of tips and thoughts in the text helped me get around all potential problems.
Overall the quality of the explanations where really great and thoroug and the editing and layout quite beautiful.

With all the other content you cant go wrong with this one..
And Andreu and Ever are cool guys you want to support!
