I just got this book, so I haven't read much of it yet. I LOVE IT. What do you guys think? If you don't have it, get it. NOW. Get off the computer, go to the bookstore, and BUY IT! I LOVE THIS BOOK.

I would rather get his lecture notes he is selling on line and learn his magic he is doing in Las Vegas.

Even if you don't do any of the stunts in the book (and I don't know why you wouldn't), it is so funny to read. I like the Snot (with the bread) stunt as well as the Zit-Popper. I would recommend getting it to anyone. It's not expensive (I just picked it up at a Bookstore one day) and it's a great read.

The contents are practical effects that he does perform but not in his standup show. However, I'd recommend his notes to everyone, too! |

This is interesting. When I saw this book in one of the shops, I did not pick it up. I felt much of it was stuff already talked about.
Guess I have to revisit the shop, and look through the book in greater detail. But like wmhegbli writes, I guess I'd like to pick Mac's online stuff more than the book. ;-) |

When I first saw this I thought two things.
1) Oh, it's a book on mentalism. I don't want it. 2) Oh, it's just silly tricks. I don't want it. But then I remembered a fellow magician/juggler/friend (who taught me thumb thru ear) had mentioned this book to me. The recommendation, along with the fact it's Mac King, (C'MON, MAC KING!) I bought it. Best 11 bucks I ever spend. Well, maybe not but still a good book. P.S. If you don't put a space, his name is Macking. Haw. |

Could someone describe the contents of the book or provide a link to it?
Thanks in advance! |

Everything involves using your head. Upon first appearance the book looks like it is for children, but I have found that some of the stuff in there is GREAT for some comedy routines.
I got mine free from Mac King's show.

Some of the better tricks involve "smelling a card" selected and cut into a deck by the spectator. While you smell it, it sticks to your nose, pops up over the spread of cards in your hand and into your mouth.
Putting your thumb thru your ear. (REALLY great effect, and very easy and quick to do. KILLS every time) Popping a zit on your face and having a foot long strand of gross yellow stuff come out. Jabbing a fork into your eye w/ white goopy results. Throwing a ping pong ball into the air and catching it on your nose. It gets better and better! Lots and lots of tricks in this book. NOTE: You do not ACTUALLY do some of the grosser tricks. They are of course TRICKS. Buy this book if you see it. You won't be dissapointed. -Jordini |
