Getting back into performing so I need to build a few things. Started with a new briefcase table. Was pretty easy to make. Music stand and Harbor Freight.

I've made a couple of these, they work great. I found over time the case wanted to sag and lean from the weight so I added a 3/8" plywood the shape of the inside of the case to the bottom inside using E6000 glue.
The flange what screwed to this to cure the sag in the case. FYI in the event you didn't do it that way.

Nice job it looks very professional.

Also added 28 gauge wire to hold the sides square. I don't like it leaning forward. And thanks for the compliment.

I note that you are using that 28 gauge to "stabilize" the lid. I've used black nylon cord, but I prefer the "stays" such as are used in card tables.

I've used various tripods over the years, but finally settled on a waiters tray stand. (faster set up for a school show, when doing 3 or 4 a day) A few years ago, I "stumbled" on a folding table (thrift shop) similar to a waiters stand, that had been used, years ago, to put a 35mm projector on, when showing those 35mm slide pictures. (now, you KNOW that I'm old!) The legs, at the bottom, "went" straight down. That allowed me to insert casters in the tubing. A "roll on" table!!! When I got inside the school, I could set the table, place my prop case (a "fat" attache case) on it, and roll in down the corridor to the auditorium, or gymnasium. The prop case and props weighs only 22 lbs, but I save my energy for the show!

That's a great idea. I will look into that. Different look on stage, but will do the job for sure. Something to look into for sure.

Phil! Taint nothin' wrong with your tripe and keester set up. I sure wouldn't throw it away. I was doing a minimum of 13 per week, and as many as 17--19 programs per week. I had to move in and out fast!

Over 50 years on the road, I used, at first, a Town House "roll on" NITE CLUB TABLE. Then. a borrowed Caféteria table from the school. I then, had a magician friend make a "Merv Taylor Suitcase Table". It looked great and packed neatly, but, like all those types of prop table/cases, it was too HEAVY. I bought a 13" x 20" x 8" fiber salesman's sample case, and re organized the props so they would fit. (the dimensions, then. were the maximum size that would fit under the seat ("carry on luggage"). For awhile, I used a tripe that fit in the case, but the waiter type stand, finally "won the battle".

If you're doing 40 milers or less, and one per day, you should get along just fine.

A couple of months ago, in the "Where to put it all" section, someone said he would like to see the inside of my prop case. This past week, Colton Raelund, whom I have been mentoring, visited for a few days. He has one of the "new" cameras that "shows you the picture it just took". He shot a picture and will post it in the "Where to Put it All".

Very nice setup, Phil! In case it helps anyone, here's a link to the case: https://www.harborfreight.com/18-in-x-6-......271.html . I just happened to purchase two last weekend, and they're unbeatable for $29.99. Notably, they're the perfect depth for a vertical deck of cards.

Does anyone happen to have an easy link to the flange or stand? I know it's not rocket science, but it's always nice to go with the same thing that's worked for others.

Nothing too exciting in my case. Just what I need for the current show set I'm doing. Cards, envelopes, whatever. I try to pack small and play big.
