Not entirely convinced by this one to be honest.Pricey and do we need it?.Don't get me wrong I love alakazam and met Mr nardi a few times at the Wessex magic society convention.Top bloke and many wonderful creations. This I'm not sure about at all.Fairly obvious what's happening here, clever yes .....needed?
You could do the very same with an xtractor from alakazam.A deck of double blank bycycle cards and a plain card board box.Or if you like the stack of business cards there's PAC stack which has less handling of cards and less chance of you getting a sneeky peek. You already have two business cards out ....you get the peek as either the spec is putting their card in the stack themselves, or you could be dropping the stack into a business card case. Or even placing it in spectators hand or just moving the stack away from yourself. This instance I prefer PAC stack as I already use xtractor in another effect. No peering at the lid of an open box here.Pac stack is very open and all the dirty work is done in plain view. |

Not to give to much away.. But in your words...
Stealth case "peering at the lid of an open box"... or PAC Stack peering at the bottom back of the PAC Stack.. Whats the difference? A peek is a peek.

Also you CANT pass out the PAC stack to the Spec to fully examine.. The Stealth Case you can if you so choose.. Big difference in my mind.. Heck You cant even pass out most peek wallets for examination.

Also I have not seen it yet but there is a method where you don't have to reopen the Stealth Case a second time.. I am interested in finding out how that works exactly.

Stealth case is great I prefer it personally to PAC stack . There would be however be absolutely no need to pass any of these out for examination but never in a million years with PAC stack as it's just your business cards and no other wallet or case is in play so that is very obvious no one would ever want to check them or you must have massively telegraphed everything and it's game over anyway . The reopening of the Stealth case is fully justified and it's a far better way than the non reopening method that looks very unnatural imho but is an alternative but I would be surprised if many would use that way , regards Tarik 😊

If you're handing out things to be examined, then...don't...
It's all about the logical disconnect...

Im pretty content with my Telethought 2 wallet.
I actually enjoy opening it up again and having nothing for them to see while I'm getting the peek. Then I can just leave it open on the table too. But the Stealth seems great too. |

Yes why on god's green earth would you want to have them examine either PAC stack or stealth at the end? When PAC stack is a bunch of business cards you have taken a couple out of.Either way if you don't like PAC stack use extractor with double blank bycycle cards job done.

The thing I love about the Stealth Case, after having one for a while, is it has something which most other mentalism devices don't.
Pure examinablilty. Not only is this device genuinely 100% examinable (but I agree with the other posters, devices shouldn't be handed out for examination or even suggestions of examinability be raised), but it's also so simplistic in design that just by using it, it automatically -is- examined practically. Unlike other, even arguably better, devices, for example p*r*p*d, or a wallet such as the SAW, the spectator, just by you handling the case (bringing it out, opening it up to remove cards), they get to see everything the case has to offer. Most wallets have many pockets and zippered areas that, although examinability should never be an issue, they clearly don't see the whole of the wallet. With P*r*p*d, they only get to actually see a fraction of the pad (the single sheet we have them write on). With pac-stac they really only see the one card you hand them. Of course, it should just look like and be a pad or a wallet or a stack of cards (pac-stac), and I'm not even arguing against that, but my point is with stealth case, it's a rare device that just looks sooo innocent not only because it just looks like a case from casual observation, not only because it can also hold up to closer scrutiny (again, not needed I know, but nice to know it can be), but also that in the act of simply using it, the spectator sees every part of it and it's so simple in design (no extra compartments or pockets inside) that it effectively immediately disarms itself automatically. It is basically nothing more than a case. Yet, we all know that not to be 'the case'. :p I agree that devices should not be handed out for examination or even suggest the notion, but it is nice when an item is this examinable and innocent looking that it just automatically self-disarms any such possibility just by merely using it. It is a rare device IMO that can do that. The naming of this device was fairly apt. |
