Café patrons may have seen Luke Jermay's new DVD. My question about "Synchronicity" is how is the first spectator "treated to a trick and the other, a miracle"? It appears the first spectator is simply an instant stooge. How to make the effect so later, the two spectators won't exchange notes and say, "oh, that's how he did it?" Also, in another effect, the bubble one, Luke mentions Banachek's "Brain Gain [or game]. What's that?
Respectfully and most satisfied with dvd, fib |

Hi Fib,
Go back and watch the dvd again. Luke explains the first spectators impression. He talks fast, so you might have to watch a few times. Brain game is in the Wonder Words volume II booklet, and Banacheks Psychological subtleties. Both of these works are really great. You can buy Wonder Words on cd now for a fraction of what I paid for the three volumes on tape. definately buy Banacheks Psychological subtleties first, then the Wonder Words cd set. Let's put it this way, have you ever seen Psychological subtleties for sale on the used books list here? It's that good. Hope this helps, James

Thanks Xiqual,
I thought I had gone through everything in Psych Subtl.'s. Is that the technique to find their thought-of letter? Also, in Synchronicity, the marker is never shown to the spectator. What is she supposed to think without an explanation from the performer? Regards, fib |

Hi Fib,
Let's not be so specific if you don't mind. This is an open forum. Listen to his wording when he shows her the watch. Hope that helps, James

Fib,
Yes 'Brain Game' is the technique used to devine a thought of letter. The problem I always have is which method to use. 'Brain Game' or 'Burst Bubble', both brilliant methods for very different reasons. Mel. |

Honestly, no I havent. However, I don't like the methodology involved because that is just not my style. Much too bold. I would much rather do something along the lines of osterlind's watch routine than the Knepper/jermay in***** s***** method.anyway, this is just my opinion. I am not a fan of watch effects in general.

Ive not tried the watch effect on Lukes video yet. I have tried Richard's and it really kills. I had someone ask me how I did it to "their" watch many weeks after the event. They spoke about it for weeks. The fact you can do it with a borrowed watch makes it stronger than Luke's effect in my opinion. Although it is a very nice idea.

You can't do Luke's version with any watch? Do you need a specific kind?
David a whitehead, what is your opinion on what watch effects are better? Can you list a few? |

You can't do Lukes version with a "borrowed watch" as you have to "prepare" it. It can be done with any watch however...

Mikep, like I said before I think osterlind's suits my preferences a lot more. PK time is up there too. my main beef with the jermay version is exactly what shrink pointed out.

Thanks guys, it is giving me some second thoughts about whether the effect is worth it. I think I will just stick with Osterlind's version which works well for me.
