Hello all, wanted to let you have an update on Concilium.
Sure there might be an overlap with Inject but fundamentally they are two very different things. The video with the YouTube reveal was to show an unedited version of one of the possible effects. I am trying to finalise some of the routines and make sure all is well before Concilium goes on sale. Due to the type of utility this is, I really wanted to ship it with as many different routines and types of routines as possible, currently there are about 15 routines in the document, some are cross platform (they work on iOS and Android), others are specific to one platform, Jon Allen and Angelo Carbone have been helping me with routines and creating some of their own. What is Concilium? Concilium is a utility that lets you perform a wide range of effects both using internet based reveals, such as YouTube and also offline effects, such as the music reveal performed by Magic Singh on BBC WM using his iPhone. It is important to note here that the reveals are handled by native iPhone and Android functionality. Other types of effect possible include messages appearing on screen (again using native functionality) from your psychic friend sending a message part way through the routine predicting the outcome, audible reveals when a participant interacts with a picture they have just drawn on a regular playing card. Of course there are always overlaps with other effects, it just depends on how a person chooses to use a utility device. If nobody ever decides to use a YouTube reveal because other tricks/apps offers a preferred method then so be it, it really doesn't matter. The core method requires no helpers, no forces and no voice control. The participant can be in possession of your phone for the entire routine, or for some routines, your phone is never seen. I didn't want to release a utility to the market with a set of instructions that essentially says 'you are only limited by your imagination' - that's the easy way out, I wanted to ensure anybody who buys this has a decent set of notes, provided with plenty of ideas to get themselves up and running, Due to the nature of this utility there is a private discussion group for owners to share thoughts and ideas. I have been performing Concilium for the last 9 months and not once has a magician figured out the method and has been getting great reactions from non-magicians, the utility is small, self contained and repeatable. I appreciate it won't be for everybody but I sincerely hope the people who purchase Concilium from PropDog enjoy using it as much as I do. |

Asking 8 people to let a stranger use their phone and you get just 1 positive result is a world of difference than them being asked by someone who has been booked to perform at the event ! Your analogy is absolute nonsense , most magicians get a rapport with their audience and I've never been thought of as a stranger at any gig I have ever done . Best wishes Tarik 😊

Using one's own phone does not automatically lead people to assume you are using some sort of secret control over the phone. That's absolute nonsense.
If you actually performed some of the effects, including the ones you don't know about, you would agree.

Unless you come off as a creep, or a thief (in which case you have failed to build a rapport), then no one will question you using their phone. And like tarik said, in a professional environment I can't imagine a scenario where they would say "no".
I've never encountered anyone who even gives off an indication that they are uncomfortable with me typing something in their phone... they don't do it begrudgingly, in fact they are more then happy. But maybe I'm just very charming.. who knows 🤔 |

Sorry Jon but have to agree with the above comments on your conclusion of letting a 'stranger' use their phone. For so many reasons your comparison relating to the magician/performer asking to use their phone to show them a trick, in relation to a complete random stranger asking to type something in their phone as being the same scenario is a totally opposite comparison. I have performed inject for months and 100's of times, yet not once have I had any spectator refuse to give me their phone for me to type in a prediction.

I agree 100% with the last 3 posts the scenario of a random stranger is utter garbage . You are a performer and if you can't borrow someone's phone from a table at a gig then you seriously aren't warming to them . Anyway even if you yourself have issues more often than not tables of 10 are common place so even your 1 in 8 would get you out of jail lol Tarik 😊 Ps keep digging

It's great to hear that people here give off the right personality at gigs.
As for trying harder, there is need. I have been digging... and have come up with yet another effect. Off to get some holiday sun.

Since 2013, I have release four products where my spectators type something on their phone without me ever touching it.
In these 4 years, I'm sure I've performed more app magic than anyone else. Most of the time, if I'm asking someone to go to a URL, people simply hand me their phone and ask me to type the URL for them. I have never had an issue with someone refusing to hand me their phone. If your routine motivates you taking their phone, then your spectator is very comfortable. This has been my experience ... maybe your spectators are different. Greg |

Hi Guys,
Just to let you know that Concilium is now officially available! We only have 30 units and expect to sell out fast. http://www.propdog.co.uk/Concilium-Jon-Billett For those who have negatively commented on it not being used on a spectator's phone, the whole idea is that you are predicting something in advance. So it's completely normal to have a prediction, word, video, voice message, web page open or song ready to play on your own phone, it makes total sense! Why would have a prediction on their phone! ...rant over! Dave |

Quick question before I purchase.
What can this do that inject can't? Any advantages using this method!? |

After watching Magic's performance I can do this with Earworm or Inject without the use of the cards?

Agreed, this new release is a backward step. Greg is the pioneer here and that's reflected in his products.

I'm really new to app magic, I've put off using it for all the wrong reasons. Now I'm caught between buying either Inject or Concillium or both.
There are obvious fans of Inject here, which really launched quality App effects. With Concilium, I think the pairing idea is ruled out by a lack of any bluetooth device being in play. The phone could be in their hand, just as the cards would be. I don't borrow someone pack of cards when I perform in case they think I'm using a gimmick. Personally, both Inject and Concilium offer strong effects with some over lap. Con cilium is easier to perform due to the control and cover offered. If you feel it necessary to use a borrowed phone then obviously stick with Inject. I honestly don't think anyone would normally leap in and say, 'Hey why didn't he use my phone!'. They would naturally assume it is normal ad polite to use your own. You may be running when you aren't being chased. If it is the price that you are worried about, then I feel it is best to wait and see what is offered. I expect the routines to be fully worked by very good professional and may be worth the price alone. |

Ok, I think a lot of people on here still don't get Concilium and just how much control it invisibly gives you, so here are just a few of the effects that you can do with it.
• Give someone the ability to stop a stopwatch at an exact time of your choosing. • Have a friend read someone's mind over the phone. • Predict the total of a random calculation using your phone's calculator with no prior set-up. • Predict the location of three different objects. • Receive an SMS part way through a routine predicting the outcome. • Have your phone be able to identify a spectators card by asking your phone simple questions. • Turn your phone into a lie detector and ask the person to lie or tell the truth. |
