A former Magic Mountain (Six Flags, California) employee Thursday sued the theme park as well as a magician whom she alleges sexually abused her, saying she was forced to quit because of the unsafe work conditions.
The plaintiff is identified only as Jane Doe in her Los Angeles Superior Court lawsuit against Magic Mountain LLC, magician Michael Turco and his company, Shade Entertainment LLC. Turco worked as a magic show coordinator for Magic Mountain, the suit states. The suit’s allegations include assault, sexual battery, false imprisonment, sexual harassment, gender violence, civil rights violations, negligent supervision, hiring and retention and intentional infliction of emotional distress. The suit seeks at least $10 million. Representatives for Magic Mountain and Turco could not be immediately reached for comment. The suit states that the plaintiff was a personal assistant for both Magic Mountain and Shade Entertainment and was hired last September. During her brief employment, Turco sexually assaulted and harassed the woman, according to her complaint. The suit cites as an example of the abuses an incident last Sept. 11, when she says she was helping Turco set up a theater when he cornered her in the dressing room and sexually abused her. “Plaintiff made it very clear that this conduct was unwelcome, but the conduct continued,” the suit alleges. Shade Entertainment and Magic Mountain management knew or should have known about the alleged abuses, but did nothing, the suit states. “Being that plaintiff no longer felt safe at work, she was forced to end her employment,” according to the lawsuit. http://mynewsla.com/crime/2017/08/24/sex......lawsuit/ |
