How easy is the trick?
Presuming that I understand how the trick works (I have a good idea), how easy is it to gather said information to be sent to the device? I.e. Is this trick something that will require hours of practice to nail down (like Spreadwave) or is it more along the lines of once you understand how to do it, learning the moves takes minimal effort (like Tiny Plunger)? |

I found a clip of Copperfiled possible using Zodiac on an Oprah segment.
It says in the ad copy, as used by D. Copperfield. |

I love book tests and use them every show. I just bought this... eager for it to arrive since this adds a slightly different flavor than the others I use (mother, eve, brushwood, etc etc)

I live in an area without cell phone towers. Although I have an I Phone, I am curious if there needs to be a cell signal for this to work properly. If so, it is a waste of time to purchase this. Any help? Oops....never mind, I just reviewed the posts and saw that a signal is needed. That will save me $75.

A clarification here. A couple selling points are getting thrown around a bit loosely, which makes things a bit confusing. Zodiac teaches two distinct methods. The first, and primary, method (shown in the preview video) allows you to do this 100% alone, but requires specific (non-gimmicked) books. We include one of them in the box so you can perform right away.
A second method is taught that loses some of the convenience of the primary method, but in turn allows you to use ANY book in any language. This is NOT impromptu by any stretch, but the ability to use any book in any language is pretty awesome. From the spectator's point of view, this looks pretty much identical to the primary method. BOTH methods require the use of a connected mobile phone, though your spectator will not see it at any point in the routine. No additional languages are currently planned for the primary version, but this could always change in the future. // Lyle Borders VP of Operations thory11.com |

The sentence I said at the end which was cut was "we just wanted to do the second best book trick done by two guys on this stage" which they both appreciated. It was just poorly cut in the final edit. :) |

Could you please post a little more details about the difference between the first and the second method that can be performed with any book/any language. A multilanguage option would be great if you want to reach more people, most creators are doing it with their greatest effects

On Sep 6, 2017, Psy wrote: Hard to do without spoilers. Both methods look identical. What I can say for sure is that you will be forced to use the less "cool" second version if you want another language. It is also more complex to perform. The perks are that you can use any book in any language. If you purchase Zodiac with the intention of performing in another language, my instinct is to say that you will first be a bit disappointed. Why? Because the first method is REALLY awesome, but won't work for you. The second method doesn't have that magician "cool factor" that gets us all buzzing. At least, not at first. Once you step back and look at the second method for what it is, it is REALLY powerful. It will provide the exact same reactions. It is essentially the same trick, and nothing you do in it appears to be any different to the spectator. Method 2 requires preparation (and quite a bit of it), but imagine walking into your friends house, pulling their favorite book off the shelf, handing it to them, and then starting the routine. If you were resourceful (would require quite a bit of prep), you could do this to a chemist after pulling an old chemistry textbook off their shelf. In a different country? Use a book in another language. Method #1 can't do that. Method 2, while less shiny and more work, absolutely can. In summary: Method 1 is easy, super cool behind the scenes, and nearly impromptu. If you have the books and other materials on your person, you can drop what you are doing and perform. You are limited to ten or so specific books. Method 2 is not hard, but requires a lot of advanced preparation and seems a bit less exciting on the surface. In exchange for those drawbacks you can do this with basically any book any any language you and your spectators can read. There is a time and place for both methods. We were originally sent Method 2, and it blew us out of the water in a way we've never seen. Method 1 came to us later and we merged and refined everything into what Zodiac is today over several years. Adding additional languages to method one would be INSANELY COMPLEX. I get shivers thinking about how much work that would entail. That said, it is not something we have shut the door on. We don't plan on additional languages right now, but in the future it may be possible. I hope that helps! // Lyle Borders VP of Operations theory11.com |

Thus far I've only watched the instructional video but seems very impressive. I can't imagine the amount of time and effort this took to bring to market. Once you see the method, you'll agree. I only plan to use method 1 and I was pleasantly surprised that you have a few options with how to present method 1, including one variation where a note pad isn't needed. Wikitest will always be my go-to effect because you don't need to carry anything with you but this is a close second. Method wise, it's as impressive as Wiki and the fact that it uses ungimmicked books makes it even more amazing.
