Really? You're complaining about a magician revealing tricks IN A MAGIC TEACHING BOOK?!?!
Right, well I'm sorry to have to break it to you, but there are just a few others that are also guilty as charged. I can offer help by giving you the names of some of the guilty. For starters, that rascal, Reginald Scott, for his Discoverie.. book. Really got the ball rolling. Then we have an explosion not long after, with hundreds, thousands of them jumping on that bandwagon! That Lewis Ganson! He was a terrible encourager, no, enabler of this very problem! He even revealed the secrets of the great Dai Vernon!(in a book called, in fact, 'inner secrets of card magic' no less. So yeah, I think he was the worst and very guilty of this 'Exposure by Teaching Guides' that you speak of/have invented. After him there are thousands more. May you succeed in your quest! ;)
Quote of the Month
Those who think that magic consists of doing tricks are strangers to magic. Tricks are only the crude residue from which the lifeblood of magic has been drained." - S.H. Sharpe |
