Hi, I perform as a Professional Corporate Magician & Weddings are also a big part of my events. I can honestly say my
last 3 weddings I have performed at fabulous vineyard settings, 2 I travelled hours out of town, I never met the Bride & Groom on the day at any of those 3 events.

I always speak on the phone & emails etc and build a great rapport but on the day your there to entertain the that again..The Guests..

The Bride & Groom have enough on their plate to do, I always perform after the ceremony & when photos are being taken, experience lets you
know what group to work with & what group is next for photos with the couple etc.

It is quite common not to perform for the bride & groom on the day, however my best advertisement is you will come across the Mum & Dad or uncles & Aunties & they are
your best advertisement for how much fun they have & how good they recommend you are ..Comedy is huge in my strolling sets so everyone has a good time..

I also have a custom built effect I use in strolling that incorporates the Bride & Grooms name that is used for each set making it all much more personal etc..

Im only there 60 or 90 mins so you give the guests a great time..if asked of course will perform something for the couple but doesn't always happen...

I agree with Brent. Unless requested, leave the Bride and Groom alone. Your there to make the guests happy. Be flexible. Sometimes clients do not know what they want. Once, I was hired to perform an Adult Show outdoors. I asked, do you want Strolling Magic or a Show. He said to just show up and make everyone happy! I ended up doing a Show and everything was a success! So go with the flow. I also showed up at a Valentine's Adult Party to do Strolling Magic. During my time, the MC got up and decided to Become a yelling Don Rickles the Stand up Comedian for two hours during my set. What do you do? Just go with it. Crazy things can happen that you have to deal with. I just carry on. Cheers!

As with "Mixman"... Magic & DJing are how I make my living. I'll do 40+ Weddings a year, and the Magic is a part of almost all of them. Strolling Magic during the Cocktail hour... and as I release table for dinner. I try to always do the "Anniversary Waltz" for the Bride & Groom. I'll wait until they are visiting tables after they're done eating. When they get to a table where the Magic has already been a hit... I'll stop by and do the waltz just for them. They are the only ones to walk away with that souvenir card.
