Here is a clip of a spirit bell I built awhile back...actually a spirit type box, when items are put into it strange things happen. The bell can be examined before and after and yes the noise is coming from the inside of box when bell is placed inside. You may recognise a few classic effects I incorporated and modernised.

I guess that depends on what you mean by checked "properly". Can you be more specific? You can place the bell into a spectator's hands and have it ring and all will be fine. You can remove the dome with a spectator standing beside you and nothing will be seen. If the dome is removed and a spectator picks it up and starts to examine it carefully, then they might find something. Cheers. CT |

I've owned a bunch of bells and most of the ones mentioned in this thread. I still really like the Cesaral Antique Finish if you are looking for a real bell, and if you are looking for a more obscure, bizarre twist it is hard to beat Nick Wenger's beautiful creation.
If you are looking for more of a comedic presentation it is hard to beat Don't Ring The Bell by David Howarth. andy
