So, I have been playing with scrim and a projector for Halloween. I got the idea to use this on stage. Could anyone direct me to a person or company that could do something like this but create realistic projections?
Thanks

Ultimately, this still ends up appearing 2 dimensional and can't be convincingly substituted for a real 3 dimensional image. There are so many companies now implying that a flat projection (Tupac, Michael Jackson) is a "Hologram". It is not. It is just a plastic medium that receives the flat projection. They try and do it as far up stage and away from the audience as possible but it still looks flat. Many years ago I was approached by the producers of Ben Vareen's Las vegas show to work out an illusion where he could split apart and dance with himself as Mr Bojangles. We created a lot of very clever ways of splitting the image and optical tricks but the projected image always appeared flat as opposed to the real life image. As long as your audience has 2 eyes... they can tell the difference. A TRUE hologram is 3 dimensional but that is not as easy to reproduce in a life size form.
