Hi guys, my outlaw hobbs box has suddenly stopped working. I replaced the batteries and nothing. I've had this for over a year and it's always worked perfectly. I'm in email contact with Tim who's doing his up most to help me. But I wondered if anyone has had similar issues?

Thanks

Sounds like you've already got the best person on it--if Tim can't figure it out, nobody can.

One thing I will note, though: I experienced a similar issue and was completely befuddled... until I noticed I still had the reed switch triggered. Whoops.

Tim is being an amazing help. I've taken the magnet off. How do you know if the reed switch is still on?

I am all over this. I sent Paul some pictures as to what to do next.
We will get this Hobb's box up and running again one way or the other.

Thanks Tim! You've been awesome. I'm just so confused as to what the heck has happened.

Once the voltage is checked we may find a solution.

Tim helped me with mine when I had problems. (Post outlaw implosion) So nice. So helpful.
Incidentally I used my h*bbs judgment box with Ipswich and a little dopps this eve for halloween. Wonderful audience response. it's a show stealer.

Must admit Tim's service is second to none. Nothing is too
much trouble. Paul you might have damaged your transistor
if over experimenting with the coil? I'm sure you have sent a
picture to Tim? He diagnosed correctly what was wrong with mine...
Whether you think you can or you can't, you're right!

I just bought a box and bell similar to the Hobbs Box from Tim recently. Everything works perfectly. I hope it stays that way. Electronics can sometimes be tricky to fix. However, I have never been more happy with Tim's product and he gets my highest recommendation.

I recently purchased Tim's PK Box through Gemini. I am so happy with it. Not only is it a brilliant effect but it was incredible value for money. The Box, which is beautifully aged and includes a number of aged accessories, cost less than a flimsy looking plastic spirit bell, which was on sale at a major online US magic shop. In short Tim's products also get the highest recommendation from me.

Yes. I have the PK Box. It is very reliable. However, I would be interested in knowing what is causing others to have problems. Is there something I need to do to prevent any future problems with this? So far it works fine but if there is something that you need to do to make it last for a very long time, let me know. Thanks.

Add me to the chorus of people immensely pleased with Tim's boxes. I hosted a dinner recently where I used my box/bell in combination with a couple of spooky effects. As something mysterious occurred at one end of the dining room where I was, the spirit was clearly in evidence interacting with the bell at the other end of the room. The look of the props alone sets the tone – the workings deliver in spades - and the rustic and distressed art direction on the props seems to make them above suspicion.

Tim's attention to detail is excellent. Not only is my box aged perfectly, but he also aged my bell. If you compare Tim's Bell to the bell that you get with the plastic version, his looks more authentic and old. If you are adding this to a performance, I recommend coming up with a great story to make the most out of this great prop. The wonderful thing about this box is that is examinable, angle proof and looks very much beyond suspicion. Great for a working Entertainer like me. Storytelling and presentation skills will really make this a show stopper!

Tim's a great resource. I know I check in with Gemini every week or so to see if any products come back in stock.
