Symbolism is a wallet mentalism effect which Paul Carnazzo released about 7 years ago. Originally the cards were printed and laminated.
Paul has revamped these wallet mentalism effects and now they are made of 100% plastic. If you aren't familiar with the original (I wasn't) a single card is removed from the performer's wallet. It contains 16 different symbols. Three spectators think of one of the symbols. The performer instantly names the three thought of symbols with absolutely no questions asked. This is a thing of beauty. First of all, the quality of the card itself is superb. I wouldn't hesitate to leave this in my wallet. It seems very durable. It has a texture similar to a plastic playing card by bicycle. It's very nice. The effect itself is so very clever. It uses a force I have never seen before in a beautiful way. I say "force" because I guess that's technically what it is, but the spectator has a free choice. No numbers are ever mentioned. There's no math. The spectator merely looks at the card and thinks of one. There's some deception involved which I know will fly over everyone's heads. This is so clean, it could start a religion. It is a real work horse you can take with you and perform everywhere you go. The only stipulation is: you need at least three people to perform this effect. It doesn't work one-on-one. There's also a couple of nice bonus routines you can do with the card. They aren't 100%, but if they hit, they would act as a great lead in to the main effect. I absolutely love this. Paul is a very clever thinker. I say pick this up and you won't be disappointed. http://mentalvoyage.com/symbolism.htm Madison |

Why are 7 year-old products being reviewed in new threads in Latest and Greatest?

I guess a 7 year product may be one of the latest reviews
Whether it is also one of the greatest products I don't know |

My guess would be, Mindvention.
Madison has probably run into Paul and has been introduced to some of his fantastic work. I love everything of Paul's that I own. Enjoy Vegas. |

So if I go up to stands and say I will give them a good review - will I get free stuff
Or do I need to be a known obsequious person? |

No idea. I’ve found purchasing the products works for me.

Thanks again Madison! I hope the Symbolism serves you well!
To clarify a couple of things: Although I was at Mindvention, I don't think Madison was. Madison did not contact me for free products. After reading several of Madison's reviews, in particular some of his more "negative" reviews (I feel that the reviewer loses credibility if they only post favorable reviews), I offered to send some items to him in exchange for an honest review. The original version of Symbolism is about 7 years old, but the 2.0 version of Symbolism is newer. |
