No problem Niva. You’ve really got to be desperate to want to intergrate this into your current working repertoire.

Funny how people always expect a miracle. Guys it's a trick... and every trick has it's costs. It's a new technique and it takes maybe more time and also more versions to make it perfect.
Filler exist for decades and when I was going to school every left handed person was still smearing the ink all over the paper while they wrote. They didn't stop to write because of that either... So either you have to wait some decades until a better vesion is made or you can just figure out a better technique to handle the issues like left handed people would do it with a filler I really don't get it why you guys make it down now so badly. Even after I saw the review and issues, it was still more to the promised result than many Sansminds trailers/products |

GAM, I like my magic to be practical in the real world and not having to start the effect, go to something else and then go back to it.
I just resold my VAPR watch since it was too much of a hassle. And why go into so much trouble anyway. I can still do signature effects that look equally effective. And If I want something really close to this, there is always my buddy, The INTERCESSOR!!!

Why not just use the wallet, so there are no weired pressure moves, wrist kills or double lifts with your hands. Just let two people sign a card, put one away, do a trick with the other one, come back to the other card later and it's already done. You don't want to use the wallet? Well, just let them pick two cards from two different decks and place that second deck aside, which applies pressure to the gimmick. This is easy possible with decks like "Arthur by Chris Wiehl" or maybe it even should be enough to place the gimmick in between two "52 Shades of Red by Shin Lim" Cards?! If you all want it to use like Ekaterina or as a stand alone trick, of course it will look very awkward. But what's not practical on it, if you just have A REASON to put it away for that amount of time and it's already done once you're back? If you let 2 people sign a card and then do a trick with only one of them first, noone will ever tell you... "Ohhh, but my card was 5 mins in that second deck on the table. I'm sure you duplicated my signature just right there!" Also the same with the Vapr Watch. I got 6 of them myself and I'm happy with all of them. I never would think about giving them away, even if they get some of the issues (loose lock hands, loose face etc.) I already had all of the other watches like the Lynx Smoke Watch and the smart watch edition of it and believe me, THAT was a hassle! You buy those tricks because you like the effect right? The effect is possible as shown as well as Clone, also as the Vapr watch. People don't care about the little issues you have. They just see at the end the same effect, which because of you bought it first. |

I feel it's something to do for a one time thing. For the price tag it has huge constraints, the time delay being the huge one. This limits it's uses and when you way everything together... I don't think it;s worth the hassle really when you can achieve most of the effects through other ways. It's a cool thing for magicians, but when you work for real people you need to be practical with your approach. Of course I could think about a whole routine to go with it that requires me to hold onto one of the cards, then get back to it again later... but it's not practical when compared with other methods.
As for the Vapr watch, good for you and I really envy you. I waited so long for the watch, but mine never really worked reliably. It was too much hassle and frustration so I gave up and ended wasting about €150.

To all of the magicians out there who dare to be unique, inventive, regardless of your success or failures. Thank you. Secondly, inventors who dare to take the risk, and generally at great expense whether they publish their effects or they do not. I too am an inventor and my most recent effect has cost me far more than I ever imagined, and currently it costs about $300 a unit to produce. Laugh and take stabs at that if you will, but its true and finally after decades of putting it aside and picking up on it again, I have a full production model that took 2 years of expensive trial and error to create. I am not encouraged to share it.
My hats off to JC for releasing CLONE and taking magic to another level, and here's why, not because it is perfect, but because it is the beginning of a new fellowship of magicians who will share in its evolution. I assure you those of us who have joined will be members for life. I have had the pleasure of conversing on a very personal level with JC. We did not know each other before I purchased clone. And he is forming a fellowship whether he is doing so intentionally or not, and I am eternally grateful to be a part of it. Regardless of how well you may or may not believe this utility works, or which review is true and which one is not. The opportunity to work hand in hand with a Master Magician and possibly play a part in the bigger picture someday is worth a king's ransom. I am only posting (in this thread) again because this has been an omission. Please, my all means let this be the brunt of more jokes. Carry on... |

While the idea is great, they do not really back it's growth. So I went ahead and purchased iThump, which puts Cipher to shame really. Much more robust with plenty of other features which the Cipher team refused to add. Now Clone seems like another one of their effects, where it's hyped so much and the trailer is deceiving. I may be wrong... but from what I have seen it's not for me. And I am glad for videos like the ones by Ekaterina. I prefer to spend my time on more practical things.

Niva:
I cannot disagree with you. What works in your act works in your act, what does not - will not. I have never inferred one size fits all. I do not feel CLONE is for everyone. I never said that. This utility appeals to the inventor in me and I have not been disappointed. I don't understand why this has become such a source of contention. I am here flesh and blood sharing with all what my experience with CLONE has been. I have no loyalty to JC or any company other than my own integrity. My experience has been just the opposite of Ekaterina's. I did not feel the need not go out and try to perform using it within days of getting it, and post a first review. I didn't do that with GLITCH and I would not do that with any effect or utility (period). I took the time to give it a full evaluation before posting my thoughts on the utility. I believe those of us who enjoy the fray of creation and invention will be using CLONE enthusiastically. Some who stand on a more middle ground will simply find a way to put it into their act or not. Those who want something more practical will find something that better suits their performance style and dismiss it. I may be wrong. I may be right, but if anything I have given CLONE a fair shake and have reported truthfully and accurately the results of the trials I conducted, provided a performance strategy, and shared the level of support I have received from its inventor. |

Carderrez. I’m in the firm belief that you received a free copy. You’re talking as if this is a 20 Buck download. It isn’t. It’s mega expensive and we’re not stupid.

What's the evidence for that claim, Pegasus? Because he actually likes it and uses it?

Personal dismantlement is the reprehensible fall back position of the indefensible. It always has been in public forums, and always will be.

This has gone beyond the pale. I am surprised the moderators have not stepped in. I do not have a working relationship with Ellusionist. I simply purchased CLONE and posted a review here. Par for the course, I guess. Do not post reviews in this forum if you buy anything from Ellusionist unless its a negative one. By all means continue attacking my character with this dismantling nonsense. What a shame and waste of my time. Who needs this mean spirited abusive crap?

Sorry, he likes the product and wants to create a routine that will address any shortfalls it has.
Is that better? Yes, I work for Ellusionist. I have never been coy about that. I enjoy the opportunity this job presents to help new magicians develop. An opportunity that has allowed me to help at least two performers develop routines for Clone, in fact.
