I've yet to see a better ESP Cards matching effect than "Just Fate" by Thom Peterson.

Is it stronger to use ESP cards rather than normal cards? I’ve never been in to this ESP bull crap storyline if I’m honest.

I don't think the specific symbols really matter, beyond what value you can create through a script.

This looks like Jazz Mentalism to me. Can anyone confirm this?

Ultimately, it's your presentation is all that matters. Keep in mind that the needed items to perform it exactly as taught with normal cards are not provided, but you may already have them if you wish to use regular cards. Also, there is a workaround as already mentioned in this thread but I feel the way John George does it is stronger. |

If you have an ok memory, you could use blank cards with words. Love, money etc. then ask them to think of the most important to them yada yada go through the routine and do a sort of reading as you reveal each match. This could also take a bit of heat off if you are twitchy on something.
This is how I plan on trying it. |

Firstly yes you can use playing cards with a little bit of some buisness. Not jazz mentalism the outcome will be 1 of 2 scenarios. No 1 being perfect. No 2 not so perfect but it looks the same.Ie you will in scenario 2 have to perform a basic sleight in the same act of showing your top card as a match in scenario no 1.It uses a well known principle in mentalism. I think the way it's presented is exactly the way to go.I like it a lot.

Iam a huge fan of Micheal Murray’s Jazz mentalism routine , what advantages does beyond esp have over this version and can you do other effects using the same cards or is it limited to this one effect?

I believe Jazz Mentalism is by Dave Humphries originally?
It's a little trade off. The ending doesn't require the thing that Jazz Mentalism requires, so the reveal is cleaner. The cards could be used for Jazz Mentalism or most other matching effects. And with a small change, you can use your regular ESP cards for Beyond Perfect too.

Looks really good. Reminds me a lot of the routine Doug Dyment has in his book Mindsights.
