Thanks for sharing, Scotch.
Those are two great books. And you're right, Closeup Card Magic is a great read filled to the brim with great magic. |

April's foraging graced me with:
- Mark Wilson's Complete Course in Magic - Harry Lorayne's Deck-Sterity - Harry Lorayne's Reputation Makers I already have plenty of Lorayne's material to work on with Close Up Card Magic, but those two titles were too cheap to pass up. I'll dig into them soon. The Mark Wilson book is great; I'm enjoying it more than expected.

Not a magic book but a friend and Canadian Magician Steven Vincent has recently released his first book of horror fiction on Amazon. I have read it and thoroughly enjoyed it! Steven has a real talent for conjuring up incredible images and scary scenes from the little town of October Bay in Nova Scotia. Steve is a great guy, talented magician and builder. He has traveled the world with many productions both in front of the curtain and behind. Has now settled back in his home province of Nova Scotia and focusing on his true love of horror fiction. It is worth the read!

I lucked upon Darwin Ortiz' Strong Magic and Maximum Entertainment, each for $15, and couldn't pass them up.
Since they're both presentation/theory focused I decided to grab John Bannon's Destination Zero and the old Karl Fulves book (both books are focused on self-working tricks) and am going to try to focus on playing up presentation of a bunch of them. What's on your wishlist right now? I'm eagerly waiting for a smoking hot deal on John Bannon's Dear Mr. Fantasy, a couple Tamariz releases, Lorayne releases, McCabe's Scripting Magic, and maybe The Discoverie of Witchcraft. After that... surely my bookshelf will be complete, right guys? ... right guys? ... GUYS?!

My wish list (https://www.actofmagic.com/wishlist/) is predominantly books. I guess I’ll be competing with you for McCabe’s books!

I went heavy on the New Years deals when Don's Magic & Books had their 26% off sale. Picked up a bunch of Lorayne, plus my first Tamariz and my first from the Professor.
As an aside: shipping from the US is absolutely insane.

Great! I think I have every Lorayne Hardcover (inscribed) except Personal Collection. Which Tamariz did you get?

Yeah you're a big proponent of Lorayne's stuff, and part of the reason I decided to dig into his stuff after picking up Close Up Card Magic.
The Tamariz was 'Five Points of Magic'. And for Lorayne I grabbed Best of Friends, Afterthoughts, Dingle's Deceptions, Jaw Droppers!, and Rim Shots. Haven't even touched them, I just knew I wanted to grow the library and that they're all books I'll find value in.
