Just buy an iPod touch if you canít afford an iPhone . Then never update the software by iOS and all the apps will always work . iPhones are the best for apps and the best for avoiding piracy , I too am surprised Nick even bothered pandering to the android market , I wouldnít have done Smile

It's lucky for us Android users that you didn't have a say in the matter then ;-)

Personally I don't use app magic much and have just 3 apps in total with DFB being the one I use the most, for that alone I have considered switching over to the iphone however when I check out the reviews every time the Samsung S9 comes out on top overall and is cheaper to boot not to mention that they are just easier to use when it comes down to downloading music etc so I guess I'll hold off making any decisions for a bit longer yet.

I only have DFB , wiki test , ithump , iforce and Racaan by Greg Rostami . ithump is by far the best of the lot and probably the least known . Downloading music is simple on iPhone , go to iTunes pay 99p and its done . I find android users cheap skates and pirates by large , and they reap what they sew in the long run Smile

Im on android as its a far superior technology than apple - take a look at the Hydrogen One smartphone there is NO WAY apple will make a phone that is Niche they are products for the sheep and not the wolves or as you call us pirates !

If you don't think that what you wrote here isn't insulting allow me to assure that it most definitely is......just what the Cafť needs not !!

I donít think it is as I know so many non iPhone users who copy music etc and downloads for free . I think itís wrong and should be stamped out and itís a glitch in their
( androids ) software that they do nothing about . I find iPhone users are not looking to cut corners and are happy to pay , from my experience itís a far easier platform to write apps on . Marc Kerstein will verify this all day long Smile

Clive your just ignorant and rude calling people cheapskates just because they prefer to use Android, it sounds to me like its just the people who you hang around with if that's what your basing your rudeness on which says a lot more about you than it does us Android users so please don't tarnish us all with the same brush.

Warren you are the exception rather than the rule then . Did you read Nicks post in this thread as to why he will no longer update on android ? If you did then you will realise I am just also reiterating his findings Clive Smile

I don't believe Nick said MOST Android users were pirating his app, just that it appears some do.
Like anything, it's a tiny few that ruin it for the whole bunch.

Clive, I think your generalizations are not only inaccurate but way out of line. You shouldn't base opinions entirely on your own experiences. It is only one factor in reaching an opinion.
And I am an iPhone user BTW.

Excellent Pegsasus very funny and sums androids up beautifully . To Videomans point itís not everyone but I disagree with just a few as I canít remember many friends buying any music they have on the androids simply because whenever I have mentioned paying for a 99p track on iTunes they tell me they just download for free on an android phone work around . Anyway I think if you are a magician who wants to do app based magic iPhones are a must . I personally do own a few apps but very rarely use in a paid performance expect DFB or ithump on a handful of occasions Smile . If it wasnít happening a lot Nick would not be discontinuing upgrading the android app right ?

Just as long as the darn thing does't break with future Android upgrades, I'll be happy.
Lot's of apps don't break with upgrades, hopefully this one isn't affected.

Ha, that video is funny, and I'm an Android guy. Love it.

I'm just super appreciate for the app. I paid for the app the way it was, not for making it better. I can't see how it would stop working anyhow. My favorite app. Although yes, I'd still love wikitest on Android. But until then, this takes the Cake.

Just buy an iPod touch and never upgrade the iOS software and they work forever . Try the the upgrade on your iPhone X and if it works great , if not you still have it on the iPod touch as long as you donít try to upgrade. Thatís my 2 cents anyway Smile

Nick & Craig's main help on the tech is Mark, who predominately focuses on IOS based apps. I'm actually surprised they even released an android version.

(To clarify, I only developed the iOS version of DFB. I have nothing to do with the Android version, nor Nick & Craigís decision.)

Actually I did read Nick's post and I got the impression that what he was saying is that Iphone or IOS whichever it is happens to be are better protected against theft not that Android users were cheapskates you came up with that insult all on your own.

Personally when I buy music I buy CD's and then I copy them over onto my phone, I believe IPhone users do the same ie the copy it over to Itunes and then on to their phones you can see tutorials on youtube showing it by these saint like IPhone users.

Here's an idea how about giving us an apology for painting us all with the same brush as your friends instead of joining a magic forum and insulting a great number of the forums users ?

I donít, I buy it direct on iTunes and burn it onto a disc from my Mac. Money has never ever been an issue with me in my life so I take the best course of action that suits me. You may well be ethical Warren but there is far for more protection with the iOS market and thatís just a fact of life . Androids can and still will always be abused and I have always found itís the poorer end of our society who tend to do this Smile
