Hello,
any thoughts to value of this book? I don't want to overpay. |

Hello,
It depends how much someone is asking you for this book. I think I paid 55 dollars for it. It’s a great book with a lot to think, perform and marvel at. |

People set crazy prices for magic books all the time. Just look at Amazon and ABE.
Those who understand that are going to ask this question. Unfortunately I can't offer much about the current market value -- I haven't noticed it changing hands very often. $80ish? I have ample patience, so I'd likely wait til I found one under that threshold... |

What do you mean by "crazy" prices?
I once saw a painting sell for a million dollars. The owner's guests liked to look at it on the wall, but they preferred the cocktail magician. His material only cost several thousand, and he earned nearly a million. |

If people buy paintings worthing millions just to show to others, that’s stupid bragging, or maybe investment. Most of people purchase art for themselves.
I don’t think people hire magicians just for themselves. It’s completely two different things in my point of view. |

I never see Tricks on the second market. There is a valuable reason.

Actually, I’m not sure to have understood what you wanted to say, especially « he earned nearly a million ».

Back to the thread, I think you can make a career with only the contents of this book.

I really enjoyed the book, I think I managed to pick it up from Ebay at about £30. I found it full of workable tricks, and I also liked that it had stand up/parlour routines in as well as close up. I would have happily paid 3 times the price I did
