At the Magic Castle swap meet on Saturday, Dean was demo'ing his Isolation routine from Extreme Dean vol. 1. He also sells the little glass bowls (think of soy sauce size) needed ($15). It's a highly visual, amazing routine.
Effect in brief: Coins Across on the tabletop. One at a time, four coins travel from one inverted glass bowl to another—visibly. Each phase is slightly different, adding interest. Dean doesn't seem to be advertising the bowls on his website, but you can contact him directly through his site. I really recommend the routine. It adds another layer of impossibility to Coins Across, and even an auditory element. Speaking of which, he also was doing a fantastic stand-up coins through table to glass, using a flipper coin (a Swadling coin from Jamie Schoolcraft). Cheers, Jerry |

Thanks for the suggestion. If it is as I imagine, it would be a very nice, clean trick, at a good price. I have friends who swear by Coins Across, but it's not really for me. However, I will look into these bowls.

I would love to see Dean work with a Swadling Coin. Maybe on Extreme Dean vol. 3. Volumes 1 and 2 are both fantastic.
I spoke with him last weekend and what a nice guy he is. Wish I could get by his shop some time. I have been working on his Call Shot and Swirl Assembly. I will have to give Isolation a go next. |

I liked isolation in it's earlier form also (where he used a glass, on one of his older tapes).
But the two small bowls make it a very strong trick.

Coins, Glass, & Silk is what you are referring to Dan. And man is it beautiful!! Isolation is very visual as well, kind of like a double Copentro. Where the vanishes as well as the appearances occur under two glass domes, with the benefit of no mechanical things to go wrong.
