Jon, what are the chances of establishing an open source search engine which 1) does not identify users; 2) encrypts searches at both ends; and 3) leaves no trace of itself on remote computers? I know there are services like DuckDuckGo, but do they fulfill those requirements?

@TW, PRC tries to prevent and discourage inappropriate and antisocial use of the internet within its borders. Facebook, Google, router manufacturers ... patriotic network workers try to keep things PC, for PRC values of Politically Correct.
@landmark, updating the os kernel to make sure none of that is relevant, beyond attempts to draw attention. Predictive page caching = someone watching .
