I am on my way back to Germany, where we will continue preparing the Destiny Decks for Blackpool. I hoped to officially release these decks soon, but at all conventions they flew off the shelf and sold out every time. We can only make 40-50 decks per day...with two people working on it.
We are getting closer to a final release, and all who signed up will be the first to get their hands on, as I will first do a hidden purchase link to filter the demand, otherwise I fear we will be wiped out quickly. A few details: David showed me this deck over four years ago and it fooled me badly. At that time I was not sure about the reliability as I also thought it would have been similar to Photographic Memory (The effect btw is discontinued by us). It took David two more years to get to the perfect method how to prepare the deck, and us another year to catch up, get over the loss in the fire and start the production ourselves. The secret is GENIUS, no SF, no sound, very clean. However, the routines that David created for this deck are as strong as the gimmicks. The cards across routine (Semidestiny Deck) is my favorite so far in the shuffled deck. Many magicians bought two Destiny Decks, as they wanted to perform the routine with the new deck order, but also all the other routines with the shuffled deck. If you have not yet, please sign up here: www.card-shark.de/thedestinydeck. By the way, if you prefer watching the demos in spanish, I can provide also a link. The instructions btw are both in english and spanish. The price will be 80 Euro or 80 Dollars, depending on where you live. We hope we can bring enough to Blackpool with us, so please - if you come - make sure to get yours early.

Yes, Large Index as well. They were the first that sold out at MagiFest.
I believe that the Large Index Phoenix, with a growing range of trick decks (eg Marked Decks, Stripper, Dhort, Gaffed, Double Decker, to name a few) will become more and more popular. The last few conventions they sold much faster than the regular decks, their faces are "just right" for magicians and have NOTHING to do with Jumbo index decks.

I guess currently no plans for parlour decks?

Great routine(s) but I’m almost never in a situation where a large table is available to do the spreads so at least I’ll save 80 odd pounds.

The Large Index version is a very good alternative for the Parlour Deck.
Due to our fire in the warehouse last April we had to focus on our main products (Poler) first and wait until the insurance would finally pay to let us continue. Funds arrived, the next step will be the production of Parlour Decks and their Double Deckers. The last step will be the vintage cards to get us "back to normal".

The only issue seems to be that you only have 1 force card per deck. Am I right? So performing 2 different routines for the same group Would yield the exact same selection card and would totally seem fishy.

In the main Destiny presentation, you can say its inevitable they will choose a certain card... so there is no need for that card to change between different groups as everyone is destined to choose it. |

Having the same "destiny" card (force card) won't allow for differentiation. Of course, this deck can do several tricks within one routine, but only using one force card. Maybe I'll buy two decks. |

My point is it is not like a standard forcing deck where they randomly choose a card from a spread (and every group happens to get the same card). In this presentation, it is framed more as a verbal open prediction, which everyone is destined to end up on the [force card]. So I see it as less of an issue, but of course you could buy two decks.

When I get this and start performing with it, if I know I’m going to perform multiple routines to the same group then I will start off with, “now you will pick your card of destiny, we will use the card for the next half an hour (or however long your performance is)... just make a big thing about the card being their card of destiny

How do you get a magician to show you ten and more tricks? Ask him to show you one!!!
Have you ever thought of doing ONE routine and giving it a meaning instead of doing trick after trick? You might be surprised how people will admire it and you will get a completely different status with them. It would also solve the "problem". Next time they see you they might ask you to show the trick again. You would be able to use the same deck, do a complete different presentation and they would have forgotten the value already. Just because the deck can be used in different ways doesn't mean to show them all (at once).

Write down a prediction. Shuffle the deck. Let a spectator draw a card. Your prediction matches! Put the card back into the deck and let it be shuffled. Now use your sense of touch to find that card again (probably blindfolded) by merely moving your hands across the backs. You found the card! Once more put the card back into the deck and shuffle it. Now ask the spectator if she thinks her card is in the upper or lower half of the deck. Discard the other half and ask her again and proceed until just one card is left. By magic, she also found the card! If you feel it necessary, switch in a regular deck for the discarded cards and show them all different. Do all this with a nice background story or some acting or whatever you like... I am looking forward to applaying this kind of thinking to the Destiny Deck |
