I acquired one of these from the Bill Pitts collection. It does not like like Rice SKS design to me. Brighter colors, more orangish flames, green dragon with bigger scales.., and pieced in half. Does anyone know who some other makers of the past might have produced these, and how I might start to identify this short of posting a photo. I am still researching how to post one, but would gladly email or text a photo to anyone willing to help, and give it a shot. Thanks

If your silk does not have a Silk King Studios logo(SKS, above a crown, in a black box) on one corner, it is not a SKS silk.

There are several "reproduction" silks out on the market, in a 3' size and in a 6' size. The 36" ones came in Butterfly, Rabbit In Hat, Dragon, and Clown Face. I bought those all in 36" size.
I think there were 4 different ones in the larger 6' size, too, but maybe only 3 (maybe not the Clown Face). The 6' ones are priced at about $99-$125 on a magic dealer websites. The Butterfly and the Rabbit in Hat ones are the easiest to obtain in 6' size (David Ginn sells them, for example). I bought that last 6' Butterfly one that Dazzling Magic had a year or two ago, but he still has the Rabbit in Hat one on his website. I recall seeing the 6' Dragon reproduction at one time. I haven't seen it on David Ginn's website, the Dazzling Magic website, nor the Laflin Magic website in a while. Sterlini Magic appears to have one currently on their website, for example (I found that with a google search). An original Rice's 6' Dragon often sells for about $350-$400. I bought a used one of those from David Ginn at one time (one he'd be using in his own show for many years). - Donald P.S. For those interested in picture silks, David Ginn & Goshman Magic came out with a new series of picture silks just a few years ago. Happy Elephant, Ta-Da Rabbit, and Peacock. They are a 45" size, and then he later released then in an 18" size. They are available from David and other magic dealers.

There are currently two 6-foot dragon silks listed on eBay
one with a yellow dragon and a blue border https://www.ebay.com/itm/RICE-MAGIC-MAMM......esh=true and one with a yellow/gold dragon and a red border https://www.ebay.com/itm/RICES-SILK-KING......sW9Y1tEN Both have the SKS logo. Perhaps Ruth can verify whether they are the real McCoy. ----- Amado "Sonny" Narvaez

I didn't get a chance to edit my post. I just wanted to comment that the 3' and the 6' reproduction silks are not marked with the SKS logo. So, it is clear that they are reproductions. You can also tell that by their quality and price.
The 6' Dragon Silk (reproduction) on the Sterlini website is shown as out of stock, but there is a photo of it along with their price. http://www.sterlinimagic.com/dragon-silk-6-foot.html There's also a video of the 6' Dragon Silk (reproduction) on YouTube. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BwutNdN5JAc Although it's a video from Abbott's Magic, I don't see it currently listed on their website. - Donald

Rice also sold 36" Sunburst (not sure that's the correct name) silks in different color schemes.

Just to clarify, this is not a recent reproduction. Bill Pitts was a past Intl President of IBM and past Present of Magic Collectors Association. His collection was vintage, some dating back as far as Houdini and Mulholland. So this would be a past artisan from the Rice era, though definitely NOT Rice/SKS. Any ideas ?

It would appear to be a P&A silk, like the one seen HERE.
