Is this "The Caliphes Garden" that Abbotts used to have in an older catalog.
Has anyone ever seen the califs garden..or know anything about it? Click here to view attached image. |

I saw it done once, years ago, at an Abbott Get together. It made a pretty display. Many years ago, (in the '30s or very early '40s Percy made a BIG one, for Barnes & Carrothers to use on grand stand shows at fairs. It was probably 15 to 20 feet long.

I just remembered! There was a picture of the prop that Percy made for Barnes & Carrothers, in Abbott's catalog # 7.

I also saw it at Abbott's. Stephanie Griswold did it. Dick--remember my remarks " I hadn't seen that many table since W. W. Durbiin. The Barnes and Carrothers was blooming trellis that was shown in one of the early Tops or catalogs.
It has possiblities but here is the basic problem with with as built. The bouquets are too small and the production method is repeated to often. I had a version that I never made but it used a variety of methods to produce the bouquets. The framework was simply a method to display the bouquets.

Yes! re: the production method, "one ahead" was IMO, too, a "design flaw".
The "tables act"!!! I had long ago forgotten who "did" it!!?! hee hee
