Clear Backpacks.
Can't carry a semi automatic rifle and can be obviated by a sheet of paper. I'm sure the students are glad of a good faith effort to protect them. (This is sarcasm.) Golgafrincham Ark Fleet Ship B RULES! -Mary Mowder |

Given that, I won't point out that it doesn't mean what you're trying to use it to mean. It's simply too dangerous. |

I'll yield to your superior knowledge. Thank you for the polite correction.
What I mean is that a piece of paper will make a transparent backpack opaque or at least merely translucent. I doubt this solution would satisfy anyone. -Mary |

Please, don't tempt the 3d printer folks to produce transparent stuff.

I miss the humor in this subject.

I'll admit, the subject is not funny and the jokes are obscure and silly.
But the solution that has been offered is is laughable. -Mary Mowder |

Well, considering the size of that high school, the store that sells transparent back packs, should have a record breaking sale.
I "sorta" missed the humor, too, ringmaster...........

Note the reference to Douglas Adams in the OP. Wondering if we'll have a "laser pointer" incident in news soon. in the mean time - outgassing plastics, publicity donations, and more "somethings" which must be done.

Clear backpacks are clear (see what I did there?) unconstitutional abridgements of First Amendment rights. Apparently.

I don't know why the students are against clear backpacks. It's obvious that clear backpacks would have stopped the Parkland shooting....and Columbine.....and VA Tech.....and Sandy Hook.....etc.

Of course, if that really was a first amendment argument, I suppose any school dress code could be argued to be a first amendment violation. (Which has been argued about before within the courts.) |

Utterly Ark B material.
Please, next it will be wet tee shirt searches for concealed carry (look at earlier stories about search used as pretext for abuse)... just say no. Really. Sad.
