Looks really nice. Has anyone got a review of it?

It looks a bit weak, compared to classic versions. The silks did not open like pedals of a flower. It is different, and if you like it, and not the girl , then go for it. Priced at $140.00.
Expensive because of the cost of silks these day, but with a lot of practice, but I think a man would have a more trouble with the steal, because of clothing differences. IF you wear a suit or tux, then you may be able to work out the routine as you see in the video. I don't have this, but I have worked with the classic versions, and can see exactly how this is accomplished. There are versions that end with a flag, candle, or dove as well. Here is a direct link to purchase from Magiclism Store. I tried to order some of there gimmicks and effects, but their postage is the highest in the World. |

I don't see why people are talking. It is not one of the better version I have seen. The silks were all sewn together square which hinders the unfolding process. Hence the shaking. As for the final load, if you put a 4 mm silk in the streamer you can load that size of streamer for the finish.
As for the steal, I think there was some camera work involved also. As I said nothing that is not been covered or done much betteer before. Richard

I agree Richard! The people who did the sewing didn't know the most important thing about the 'assembling'! --And, the steal "needs work"!

You could call this Origami silk folding.

In the video I watched (the one Bill posted), it was basically something like a 12"x60' streamer (or maybe a 30' streamer) folded into a silk fountain. (There is a different, smaller streamer shown at the start of the routine... but I'm not referring to that one.) The wide / big streamer is not a load within the fountain. It IS the fountain. There is no sewing in this version, because otherwise the streamer wouldn't be able to cascade at the end. It's kept square, because there aren't multiple silks overlapping. Sorry if this is tipping the method too much on the open forum. BTW, I own a 12"x60' silk streamer, which I fold back and forth to put into props. But I've never taken that folded bundle and folded it again into a fountain. - Donald

Donald, if you watch the video full screen and watch carefully, you can see some of the silks have a French seam in them as they flop over and cascade down. Whether it was just for length or separate silks, I do no know, but there are seams showing.

Yes, I watched it several times, full screen on my 23" monitor, before making my post.
I think there are only 2 silks being used, and I think they are both streamers. A smaller silk streamer, and a larger silk streamer. There are no individual silks like in a normal fountain. BTW, in addition to owning and using silk streamers, which I mentioned earlier, I own a silk fountain and I also own the Duane Laflin DVD on the silk fountain, so I'm familiar with a regular prop. - Donald

Donald, No one is say you don't know about fountain's or this topic. I was just pointing out that there is a seam, I think it is on the blue bleeding silk, it ends as a sharp edge, I think it was orange. Now whether that connects 2 streamers or several individual silks, but it can also be noted the there are some perfect square silks with edges all the way round.
Unique idea, anyway one looks at it. |

If it is only two streamers that is an interesting thing ... What advantages does that give? And at what cost?

T W, that only means it is not the classic version in any way, but a new idea on folding to create sort of a flowering effect, then a large wide straight fountain effect. Not really saying this is right or wrong, just the it is different. Advantage would be in the preparation not dealing with single silks, and reduces the folding. Disadvantage would be needing to lay out a very long streamer to try to fold it. In many back stage preparation areas, there is usually not a lot of room to spread out a 12, 15, or 25 foot streamer to prepare it. You would need weights or another person to help hold everything as you are folding.
Then as mentioned previously, if you need to steal a section, because she steals something from the bottom of her skirt, you would have to work that out with wearing a coat. This looks like the girl in another video that produces a lot of umbrellas from a belay stiff, see entro of video, then changes to a dropped down skirt. She only looks older now, but she if very good at her steals. Just saying again, if you like this version, then give it a go. |

It is a long continuous streamer silk. The seams people are seeing is the fold marks.
It produces a very nice fountain and then the flowing river of colors. Maybe not everyone's tea but am happy with mine., |

A neat thing about the flexible modus operandi is that you can add multiple streamers, loose silks, etc to the fountain. Here is an example.
P.S. The snap silk part at beginning where multiple silks unrolled may have been an error. |

I think using the streamer, it's not as good as classic silk fountain when the silks are blowing. But certainly with this one you will get a good ending with flow of streamer .

Magic Hands made a fountain with the streamer ending years ago.

This is totally original. and brilliant. It is not just a fountain with a streamer ending. It is wonderful new concept where the fountain and the streamer are one and the same. And the construction involves no sewing...it is one continuous piece. The type of thinking that breaks out of the 'same old way it was done before'
