I will make the purchase when the package comes with 1 of each (1 book and 1 pad) and not until then. Then I'll immediately jump on it.

Alan - these are not SvenPads®. The term is a registered trademark that we own and protect fiercely. Please call them something else as they are not original SvenPads®.

That said, this is surely not a major innovation as anyone could always use Frixion gel pens, which allow easy erasability and the pens sell for about $2.00 at any drugstore. The advantage with the Frixion pens is you can pop your pad into a microwave oven and erase the entire pad in 25 seconds - poof.

http://a.co/dwXRK25

These pads are manufactured in India, not the USA - and there is really nothing new here.

Think about it: If you put the 20-25 minutes work into writing out a pad, do you really need/want to erase it later? Doubtful.

Just to point out that ANY sv*ngali treated pad is reusable if you use a frixion ink marker...

or pencil...

you can buy frixion ink markers in a wide variety of colours these days...that way you are just erasing the !@#$e words, and you can use different coloured inks too obviously...

Smile

Who's gonna put his pad under a flame or an hairdryer to erase it ? I think it's ridiculous.

Those look great ! Smile

Microwave oven. 25 seconds - entire pad erased with a Frixion pen - no work, no muss, no fuss. Poof

I love the SvenPads and am well-stocked on those but admittedly it is a frightening prospect for me when making a new pad. So I think the erasable feature is nice if you were to make a mistake with spelling or write on the wrong page, which is easy to do. But I can't imagine changing an entire pad, it's not worth it to me.

But for me the size is wrong with these pads. They are too big and bulky for pocket use (at least for me, I use 2 pads in a routine, secretly switching them) and a bit small for stage use. Since I perform casually and do not usually wear a coat these pads would be too heavy and bulky for me to carry comfortably.

So I'll just keep investing in SvenPads. Plus, the Sven post-it note pads are so small and light and completely innocent looking. So any advantages these pads offer are just not worth it for me. Just my opinion but I'm sure they fit the bill for some.

Note to Brett Barry: why don't you produce some book style KOD pads?

We do make the Bookstyle KoD pads and they have been available for a long time. http://www.penguinmagic.com/p/8905

Thank you Iain.

These are the kind of DIY ideas that Narendra would appreciate - without all the hype.
Erasability has always been possible with 20-25 seconds in a microwave oven - no need for the innovation nonsense.

FriXion pens also allow cool effects like this one by my good friend Oz:

Frixion pens are not that good anymore. They are hit or miss. I think with these new erasable Svengali pads and the ability to use a sharpie is a major step up for Svengali pads. If you mess up erase. I don't want to put my pad in a microwave. That is crazy. My order is in for the new erasable Svengali pads. The Svengali pad market has just took a big leap forward. Looking forward to getting these. 2 pads that are made to last a lifetime. Don't have to purchase any more pads. Well if they are as good as they say I may purchase both types. We will see when my order arrives.

Just for fun Magicbyswh, can you please point out online ANY erasable paper product *anywhere* - that allows writing with a standard Sharpie that can be erased? Can you provide a link? If this is such a breakthrough, then Svengali pads are small potatoes as there are much bigger markets for such a billion $$$ innovation Smile

Can you show us?

I believe in supporting MADE IN THE USA products, and if someone in India (where these are 100% made) came up with a genuine erasable paper technology that allows Sharpie (oil based) to be erasable with zero bleed... then god bless 'em. I wanna see too.

I will patiently await feedback on these "innovations."

Until then, buyer beware of hyped vaporware.
