The tech has been around for a few years...

Try again, that uses a frixion pen. The claim being thrown around here is sharpie pen. Not saying it doesn’t exist, but I’m a bit skeptical. Now watch, I’ll google it and find it in two minutes. 😜

Just for fun Magicbyswh, can you please point out online ANY erasable paper product *anywhere* - that allows writing with a standard Sharpie that can be erased? Can you provide a link? If this is such a breakthrough, then Svengali pads are small potatoes as there are much bigger markets for such a billion $$$ innovation Smile

Can you show us?

I believe in supporting MADE IN THE USA products, and if someone in India (where these are 100% made) came up with a genuine erasable paper technology that allows Sharpie (oil based) to be erasable with zero bleed... then god bless 'em. I wanna see too.

I will patiently await feedback on these "innovations."

Until then, buyer beware of hyped vaporware.

Well, the two old school methods to remove marker ink involve writing over the top with a dry erase, or using methalated spirit or nail varnish remover...

Just like if you use a biro and write on something plastic, if you squirt hairspray on it, you can wipe the ink off...

If this pad doesn't use the first method then good for them, it's new...

For me, the smell is too much and as time wears on it becomes a little more difficult to remove...

Hi Guys, lets appreciate a good idea when we see one. Imo, 'reusabilility/erasibility' is a great feature and surely a big big step forward especially in Svengali products.

SvenAgain by Sven Lee seems to have achieved that. I've got a few of Sven's products and am more than happy. Penguin is giving an intro price on these and I've ordered both sets. Will review in detail once I receive and play with them.

Brett's comic dance all over this thread shows him as an undignified competitor. Or is he getting rattled and headed towards being a bad loser? He did a similar comic dance on the Svenlopes thread too sometime back.

I've been tracking some of these 'svengali' products. Sven Lee seems to be strategically gobbling up the Svengali market, especially riding rough shod all over Brett's market with Murphys support. So Brett's frustration is understandable.

First there were Svenlopes http://www.penguinmagic.com/p/8141
Then it was SvenCards http://www.penguinmagic.com/p/9999
Next it was Svengali padset https://www.murphysmagic.com/product.aspx?id=61556
Now it is SvenAgain http://www.penguinmagic.com/p/S25104
Also Svenlopes Superheroes http://www.penguinmagic.com/p/9181
And Svenlopes Hollywood http://www.penguinmagic.com/p/9832
And Svenlopes Yin Yang http://www.penguinmagic.com/p/S24365

All of these received some rave reviews. Although their marketing leaves a lot to be desired, the product quality is top line (I've quite a few of these)

So yes, I can surely see a 'sven war' coming on, as the Directionalist mentioned. And want to play 'Red Cross' if possible Smile

Think about it: If you put the 20-25 minutes work into writing out a pad, do you really need/want to erase it later? Doubtful.

This is a very valid and practical point.

In support of Brett: The term 'SvenPads' is a registered trademark. I think one has all rights to protect ones own product and I see no harm if Brett is following that line.

Smile
P.S. In the States one can find a wide range & choice of reasonably priced FriXion Pens.

It just doesn't add up. If someone had discovered a paper on which one could write with a common store bought Sharpie pen and then days later wipe it away, they clearly would be able to sell their idea, or better yet liscense it, to the big paper pad companies, and make millions of dollars because to date anything remotely similar has required a special pen type of one style or another. Why then would they release this product commercially in a magic trick (making maybe $10,000) and allow paper companies a chance to reverse engineer this new magical paper and lose out on millions of dollars?

I'm afraid, given the nature of magic trick marketing AND presale hysteria, some of these claims will not be as accurate as some are being led to believe. While it sounds exciting (and doesn't every new trick when you first read the hype about it) I am going to wait and see what the reviews are from people not connected to the hype machine. I've seen way too many incredible presale claims vanish into thin air.

I am intrigued by the possibility, but it just doesn't add up so I'm waiting to see the proof in the actual product.

I've used these guys, mainly their sticky notes...

Again, accidents happen, written on them using a Sharpie...

You use traditional methods to remove the Sharpie ink...

Sales on these must be booming as most places are sold out of the pads. WOW. They have only been on the market for a couple of days.

I at no point said svenpads. I referred to a pad by a man named sven and called it a prop.

"Alan - these are not SvenPads®. The term is a registered trademark that we own and protect fiercely. Please call them something else as they are not original SvenPads®."

Got these now! And they are beautiful. Can't wait to play with them. Will post a detailed review as soon as possible. Each pad/book contains 50 sheets in total.

Btw, while we are still discussing over here, Sven Lee seems to have quietly released another 'sven baby' - SVENMATES.

The 'sven war' is sure getting interesting - at least from gallery view Smile

In a word AWESOME product Sven Lee!
After erasing, the paper looks exactly the same without any distortion to the paper and so easy.
I couldn’t be happier, this is definitely the best!

Tom, good catch. Smile

In the video, while erasing the marking, the manner in which the ink behaved during the wipe, it certainly looks like the writing was done with a Dry Erase Marker. Yes, it could be a Sharpie Marker, but a Dry Erase one.

For whose benefit are we trying to fool our own clan?
