It absolutely would have been just a couple of months ago.

Blimey...
Well, I guess I will have to bow to your greater knowledge of inside of cars with a svrnpad at just the right angle and sunlight scenarios... Are people comfortable sitting and wiping off ink on 'paper' that potentially won't feel like regular paper, and will have to use a wipe and "something else" to change their pads? What about the smell issue? Especially in cars a few months ago obviously...

This is a great idea I always have trouble with repeated writing on these kinds of pads or even just on cards. This not only solves that problem by allowing you to erase mistakes but also to re-write the whole pad.
The price is also amazing

Hang on, you were incorrect! And I stopped debating because people were coming up with all kinds of arguments against using friction ink. I am more than fine with that. I mean, there's so many variables to it - and I've been using frixion markers in svrnpad for years...it was just a share of an idea...
However, what I would never suggest, is something as odd as using a hairdryer or flame on a pad, when they come with their own eraser... Back to this release, if this uses the same method as their svencards, then (as per video) you have to dunk a wipe or tissue into a substance and then wipe clean each page.

This is so clever, why none ever thought about this before?
Does it come with one pad/book or two? MP |

Hey Guys –
To clarify, one pack contains two of the same product. You will receive either a 2 pack of the book style OR a 2 pack of the standard pad style. Not one of each (how is was originally going to be packaged). p |

This looks good and the size of the Pad/Book (4" X 6") is perfect. And for a set of two reusable pad/book its priced right (IMO).

Hello Ustaad –
Thank you for your comment. The decision to offer two of the same pad opposed to one of each style was; It’s better to have a backup of a product you want rather than paying for one that you are not interested in. In the past we have had a lot of feedback from dealers concerning these types of packaging decisions. I hope this helps to answer your questions. Best, P |

Hi Paw,
Thank you for your input . . . and that's OK. I do understand Murphy's has a business related reason. For a prop which is regularly put to use, a backup is much desired. However IMO, in this case, since the prop is a reusable and durable it doesn't warrant an immediate backup. I would agree if a duplicate prop was put to use for say a repeat performance with a different outcome like it could be done with the SvenAgain pad/book and thus this could be a good valid justification. But certainly not as a backup prop. I can see from the demo vid that the reusable book/pad is very well made and looks quite durable. At $30 this seems to be a good product and good value for money. I will be getting the SvenAgain the moment it pops up on the Penguin Magic site. My thinking on this (backup issue) might be totally different from the rest, but that's OK, they are MY thoughts. Best regards,

Alternately, instead of two, how about giving the buyer a third choice as well - - 1 Book & 1 Pad.

I wonder if dealers stocking this could take the initiative by offering one of each? If so I am sure many more would be tempted and buy.

I love the SvenPads and am well-stocked on those but admittedly it is a frightening prospect for me when making a new pad. So I think the erasable feature is nice if you were to make a mistake with spelling or write on the wrong page, which is easy to do. But I can't imagine changing an entire pad, it's not worth it to me.
But for me the size is wrong with these pads. They are too big and bulky for pocket use (at least for me, I use 2 pads in a routine, secretly switching them) and a bit small for stage use. Since I perform casually and do not usually wear a coat these pads would be too heavy and bulky for me to carry comfortably. So I'll just keep investing in SvenPads. Plus, the Sven post-it note pads are so small and light and completely innocent looking. So any advantages these pads offer are just not worth it for me. Just my opinion but I'm sure they fit the bill for some. Note to Brett Barry: why don't you produce some book style KOD pads? |
