I've seen the demo of the "Revolution" coin vanishing effect on the Ellusionist site and I've also read the discussion topic on this. But I got something to ask: from 1 to 5 how do you classify its ease to do? Is it good for a beginner even if it's just a sleight of hand?
Do you suggest The Raven or something to start coin vanishing or not?

Revolution is very easy to do, I'll give it a 1. But I don't think it is worth the price. (For me it isn't.) I also have the Raven, but never use it. What about learning some sleight of hand? BOBO's Modern Coin Magic is a good place to start.

El Toro has an opinion that is very specific to him. The overwhelming majority who use Revolution get a thrill out of performing it and receive quite an impact from spectators.

I want to point out that the overwhelming majority who use Revolution are kids and amateurs who have little or no experience with REAL COIN MAGIC.
Keep this in mind. Are you willing to pay money just to learn ONE coin vanish? Or buy a video to learn at least two or three coin vanishes PLUS!!! other techniques and routines?

I don't have "Revolution" but personally I prefer, with no hesitation, to pay for one trick that I WILL use than many that I may use!

We are talking about ONE COIN VANISH...a sleight...(not even a good sleight).
Paying for a trick is different than paying for a sleight. Would you pay $17 to learn say, a French Drop?

I think you'll pick it up on "where" the coin is going. Once you have that, the method of getting it there will become fairly obvious. It's not a new concept, however, as I mentioned in a previous post, Brad C does provide some beneficial advice and performance ideas in the video. That said, given some time and thought, you could put your own concepts together for the effect fairly easily. Best, Mike |

OK, if it's analog to a French Drop, I won't be happy at all for 17$ I saw in a thread that this sleight exist in volume 1 of Apocalypse, which I have. I probably read this first!

Buy Bobo and/or videos from Roth or Ammar and then spend some time making what you learn into something special for the people who will see you perform. You'll get a whole lot more out of your money and time.

Thanks to all, but now let me ask: has this "Revolution sleight" some advice about the distance with the audience or it can be made just in front of their eyes? Has it some limitation about wearing? (Looks like I'm starting to understand how it works.) For example, you can make it in jeans and t-shirt but obviously not in a tux or a suit like someone of you said.

Looks like my opinion isn't that specific!! :hysteric: Anyone who read my explosive post a few months back pertaining to Ellusionist and the Revolution effect will understand why I find this comment so amusing. Click here to read that thread, it was funny. Best, Mike |

If Brad Christian can do the vanish then anyone can. Save your money and just save up double that money for a good coin video that will give you ten times the amount of coin vanishes on it. I highly recommend anything by David Stone.

If Brad Christian can do the vanish then anyone can. Whoa! That's harsh man. I've attacked Ellusionist here and there, and I had my fair share of fun roughing up revolution, but I'll be the last one in line to get personal about another magician's abilities. Especially one that clears more $ sitting home an a Sunday afternoon than I probably do in a week of bar-gicianing. Best, Mike |

LMAO... you guys are harsh man...
Revolution is...not really worth the money...for 10 bucks you could get Bobo's and learn much more....basically mirroring what the other guys said here actually |

Hi. How do you do the sleight that was in volume 1 of Apocalypse?

I've heard "Apocalypse" mentioned a few times in conjunction with 'the revolution'... I'd love to compare the two... does anyone have an exact reference for the apocalypse item in question? (or am I gonna have to look at every page of that huge book!?)
