This is something I've been working on for a while.
It's very different from anything I've done before. The Kitchen Witch. 40 Retro "Recipe" cards for the Witch who just wants to make their life a little easier with a pinch of magick. |

Well you have my curiosity about more on this...... love the graphics of the witch, kinda reminds me of 60's Bewitched tv show.
Basic routine for these ? |

There is no single "basic" routine.
Instead there are over a dozen special "Recipes" that can actually be done. If you know the secrets. Each is a completely different effect, only one of them could be considered a "card trick". All of them are easy to do... Just follow the recipe! (Read what you can of the "Kitchen Fairy" card, Haunted Handkerchief) They provide you with lots of opportunities to mix and match your favorites. They were designed to evoke exactly that "Bewitched" vibe! Many of the cards are merely whimsical, with quirky spells and rituals for around the house. There are also many real Wiccan recipes for drinks that you can actually try and are pretty good. I'm not saying they'll do what the real Witches claim, but who knows!? |

Soonish.
I don't normally like to tease things, but this one is just so different I couldn't resist. It was a very nice change of pace to get to draw something that didn't give me nightmares. |

LoL, yes a change of pace can be good especially when creating bizarre. I enjoyed your sun morning tease, looking forward to the soonish release of these 😉
Just as intrigued by your wide angle uses/ application for these that you brainstormed these for ! Thank you for tease Cody ! |

Thanks!
I wasn't sure how they would be received. Everything is always so dark, and these are much more lighthearted than "normal". |

How wonderful, Cody! These look really charming and fun. Love the retro feel!
Question: when you say there is a recipe that works on each card, is that sort of like Darkspell, where these are traditional magic or mental effects disguised as recipes, or something different..? Thanks, Seth |

Gotta love the coffee ring on "Stubborn Stains"

You are correct Seth.
There are over a dozen different special recipe cards that are actually classic effects in disguise. Like magically repairing torn fabric, vanishing spills like salt, capturing spirits in eggs, undoing knots, stain removal etc. |

These are a must have. I've always been a big fan of the light-hearted bizarre; that's how I perform the Almanac.
And I love witches! I'm honored to have been given the opportunity to sneak peek the PDF. You're gonna LOVE this one. Bravo, Cody!!

Thanks, I'm really pleased you guys are liking the look.
I had never heard of a Kitchen Witch before my Wife told me about the one her Grandmother kept. Once she explained it to me, I remembered my Great Aunt kept one in hers as well. I never knew what it was though. http://www.witchipedia.com/def:kitchen-witch The retro vibe just sort of felt like exactly the right fit for the cards. |

Haha, I had thought of something similar.
But it was really too dark. Lots of stuff didn't make it into the deck. Stuff like poisonous recipes which contained actual deadly toxic ingredients, and some other things. I had one titled "Death by Chocolate" and the original artwork for "Resist Burning". I still played with Resist Burning just for giggles. Originally I thought about having her roasting a marshmallow, but went with a sparkler instead. |
