Hey guys,
I was wondering if anybody new of someone who manufactured colored flashpaper, or how I might possibly be able to dye it. I have tried to us food coloring and various amounts of water, and that works, but causes the paper to burn much more slowly, and thus much hotter. Any help would be appreciated. Kyle P.S. The reason I think this is happening, is because when the flash paper gets wet and then dries, some of the chemicals are dripping out and evaporating.. Kyle |

I haven't had any problems with it lighting much slower personally. I dye it with straight food coloring, and wash it off with water, and allow to dry completly.

The book Bangs, Flashes and Puffs of Smoke has a detailed recipe for dying regular flash paper. Rinsing with water afterward the dying is an essential step.

Try Visual Magic Shop (www.visualmagicshop.com). I currently get my for $2.50 a large sheet. Available in red, blue, green, yellow, purple & black. This is the only dealer I have found that has a good supply of high quality colored flash paper. I've tried Theatre Effects and Star Magic, but they never seem to have it. The colored flash paper is not mentioned on Visual Magic's site, so you might have to call them direct.
