Don't worry about the juggling aspects... I can do that (and I'm not going into the details of all those moves here, sorry jugglers). Here's the show:
On Stage (suitably gothic looking & match music) a Table stands, with a single lit candle and ash tray. Enter myself in Top Hat and Tails, with Cane and Cigar in pocket. Do some Hat Manipulation (of the juggling kind) including some bits with Hat & stick. Light Cigar with candle, juggle Hat, Cane and Cigar, ends with Hat on head, cigar in mouth, Cane in hand. Take Candle, vanish to silk, take Cane, vanish to two silks, juggle these. Appear two more silks from thin air, juggle these, as juggling (after a bit) these disappear into thin air. Vanish Silk into lit candle, place in holder, vanish two silks to Cane. End. (Or instead of vanishing the two silks into thin air, put them in my hat, bursts into flames, live dove flies out, this would be after re-appearance of Cane & Candle). Can it be done? Would I need to buy a Vanishing candle and an appearing lit Candle, as well as a Vanishing Cane and an appearing Cane, or could I just buy one Candle, and one Cane? The alternative ending wouldn't be practical unless I get into doing shows in venues. Thanks for your help! Jester_Juggler |

Jester,
It might be possible -- but only with a great deal of work switching the silks. When you vanish the candle, to one silk, and the cane, to two silks, you will still have the candle and cane gimmicks attached to the silks, so you would have to switch these out for two other silks. The same when you reverse the procedure: You would have to switch the juggling silks for the silk with the attached appearing candle gimmick and the silk with the attached appearing cane gimmick. Unfortunately, you can't get away with just one candle and cane; you'd need a vanishing candle and an appearing candle as well as a vanishing cane and an appearing cane. But, if you can get around these problems (and I'm sure you can), the routine sounds wonderful! Very commercial; it could play just about anywhere. So it would be worth the work. cheers, Peter Marucci showtimecol@aol.com |

I think its Lance Burton, but don't quote me!!
In one of his TV Specials I am sure he disappears and appears a cane. Saying that I have never seen it being sold!! Is there any way of making 2 silks appear? The only thing I can think of is a T.T. but for large silks that really wouldn't work. Hope that helps.

One small addition to Peter's post I do not think that you could reverse the cane to two silks, to two silks to a cane.
I could be wrong but only one silk could become a cane, unless you use 2 smaller size silks and tie them together before appearing the cane. Beyond that Peter covered every aspect. I would suggest that if you go the route of tying the two silks together, you may need a metal cane (appearing) as opposed to a Fantasio, I'm not sure what the expansion ability and speed of a Fantasio would be if it had to go over a knot. I would have a suggestion for the two appearing silks (from nowhere) but I'd need to know your attire, to see if it would be possible, if you'd like help PM or email me. X
