I remember seeing a really good performance of Simon Aronson's Shuffle-bored (or Paul Green's "Jeopardy") maybe a year or two ago. I think it was on a show like America's Got Talent or maybe Penn and Teller's Fool Us. I recall that he had a really good performance where he divided the deck into 3 piles which I think made it seem even more impossible. If anyone knows the performance that I'm talking about, I would love to watch it on YouTube again if someone could post the link. I have Bill Goldman’s “Little Bunny Book” which uses this principle and I'm looking to get this one out of the back of the drawer.

Like - Randy Marsh was talking about a different version, awesome, easy to do, etc. Thought I'd mention my Equalizer because it's a "different version, awesome, easy to do." Thought that was part of what this thread is about.

Delgaudio's version predates the Dan White version. And there was a bit of a stink over Dan White using aspects of Delgaudio's version without asking first. I don't know if Dan Whitle's version used aspects of Derek's performance knowingly or just ignorantly, but Derek got there first.

Thanks Jason.
Anyway, admittedly it fooled me the first time I saw it but after re-watching the video it's now clear what's going on. Sneaky. As if the trick was designed to mostly fool those who know the original!

A very belated thanks for providing it @Darko. I was admittedly fooled by the part of the process that had the spectator rubbing the cards between his hands and seemingly letting them fall to the table, relatively randomly. As one who knows the core method fairly well, I wondered how the face-up/face-down mix was able to be 'managed' with this piece of masterful 'method obfuscation' included. If you, or anyone else, is prepared to share some thoughts on this, I would be keen to exchange views - probably best via pm. Cheers!

John,
I watched the DelGaudio performance. I got fooled the first time (and would've fried my brain had I witnessed it live), but I've no doubt I've sussed out the method. PM me if you wish to exchange notes. |
