A freely thought of card, country and city.
No swami No pre-show No forces No dual reality Imagine what it would feel like to actually read someone’s mind… I present to you: “Out of the Country” With the suggestions and help of… Peter Turner, Fraser Parker, Kenton Knepper, and Christophe Jelinski… This is potentially the easiest and most powerful routine that you will ever find. You simply cannot understand the power that this routine gives you until you see it for yourself. This is a completely impromptu miracle ready to be performed any time anywhere. AND this will teach you all of the SUBTLETIES you need to bring your performance to the next level. Mixing in ideas from WONDER WORDS, teaching efficient script and maximizing hits. This is the perfect opening routine to establish who you are and what it is that you do. Includes bonus ideas and subtleties you can use in the rest of all your material. It’s easy to learn and is guaranteed to hit hard (Even revealing PIN numbers and drawings!) https://mentalistry.com/products/e-book/......e-turner (Available after the 10th of July)

Sorry, but the description is somewhat lacking. I have no idea what the routine is about.

I always thought the card seems out of place with routines like this, going from one in thousands to one in 52. Maybe it's covered in the scripting? interested in the 'No forces' part though

"You simply cannot understand the power that this routine gives you until you see it for yourself."
So does that mean there's a video forthcoming so we can see this potentially most powerful routine we will ever find? Or is it just a lot of hype-speak? Iain: there's no force, so I assume that includes of the mental variety. I used to do a version with a r***le p***, and some clever wording for this "epic" effect. All the best, Dan |

I was reckoning they meant no physical forcing of a card! They say it's the script enables you to maximise hits, so that's what lead me to the verbals!
I have a single index card m. Epic that I'm proud of...I've added a physical action that kills off any notion of the traditional methods...

If this the post is a bit confusing :
This is a completely propless way of revealing a thought of card ,country, even bonus ideas of drawings ,pin numbers and cities Nothing written down or physical. This is a routine ,(if you combine a few of the bonus ideas you could have 4-5 revelations!) Hope this clears it up.

How surefire is this effect and can it be done in any language?

When you say nothing is written down, do you mean by the spectator? Does the performer write anything?

Okay I was given a review copy of this to try to come on here and clear up some things.
It is totally propless. No one writes anything down (spectator or performer... unless you want to for purposes of revealing the info) The routine starts with a spectator thinking of a random card. It happens in their head with no obvious restrictions. They then think of a country (based off of a letter in their card) and then think of any city in that country (if they can) The performer then begins to call out letter in their country until he/she names the country they are thinking of. The performer than has them go back to their card and change it to keep it fresh. The performer than names the exact card they are thinking of. That’s the routine! It is very clean though. I really think there is some clever stuff going on within. It does have some principles similar to some Fraser and Ross Taylor thinking (used with their permission.) It also has some ideas similar to some Michael Murray work but in a slightly different way. This is similar in effect to Navigator. The difference between the two is that this one has fewer possibilities to deal with. It also uses a card (which can be good or bad depending on what you’re wanting to do.) They both have a clever way to restrict the thought of country. This one is a little more overt than what’s in Navigator, IMO, but this also makes this one easier to learn. This is the first I’ve heard of Luke Turner, but this is a solid release and I look forward to seeing more from him. The thoughts are great and meld onto a wonderful routine. Madison |

So is there any sort of link between the playing card and the country? Seems really convoluted... like some muddled baby between Navigator and Isolation
All the best //Dan |

Just a link in that they use a part of their card to help them think of a country.
I think in writing it sounds more convoluted than it comes across in performance. I also forgot to mention, there’s a fanatic, no ana**** version which is my preferred version. It is fantastic and very casual. Also it’s funny you mentioned isolation because with a little thought, there’s a principle in isolation which can be very helpful in this routine and will eliminate any fishing of any sort. Madison |

"Think of your mother's maiden name... now take one of those letters and think of a playing card. Does it have an E in it...?" etc
I would think that sounds a bit weird Im sure this can play well enough... and there will be ways of making it work, but does it make it good? All the best, Dan |

It sounds very like the kind of thing kids learn and do at school - I don't mean the actual trick itself but the procedure. I think as soon as you say "take a letter from that and think of a country starting with it" people are reminded of the "grey elephant from Denmark" spiel. On that basis I think people will think it's clever but not be able to shake the feeling the procedure led to the result.

It’s simple.
They think of a card. They use a letter from the card to think of a country. You reveal the country and the card. No grey elephants feel. The part of the process spectators remember from grey elephants trick is all the math. There’s no math in this. Madison |

How does the use of a card fit into the presentation?
Or is it supposed to be delivered in a random way?
