I need to know where I can purchase goose feathers or even larger ones to make large feather boquets and blooms. A friend of mine makes beautiful feather flowers but needs a supply of feathers. Presently, he has to buy live geese and slaughter them. This seems costly and troublesome. Is there any online shop for these? Thanks!

I get mine at Goose-Mart. It's in the same shopping center as Payless Raccoons.

Perhaps your friend should consider that there are others who will raise and slaughter and he can get feathers from them, OR, depending on how many how often, they do molt each year, and drop their feathers, even if you do not kill them! Though there may be rules/laws against having geese in his household!
Check online for poultry clubs in the area who might be a source of feathers--I obtained some lovely parrot feathers that way--did you know parrot feathers make a great paddle move item?

Lou Hilario,
You'll want parried feathers, as they are more flexible. Buy them in bulk, by the pound. Some waste, but a better deal if you plan to be in the game awhile. http://www.rainbowfeatherco.com/Goose.htm http://www.featherplace.com/ Now... can your friend tell me how to dye them myself, for custom colors?

Don't kill the poor geese. They will regrow the feathers and you'll have a lifetime supply! My grandmother used to make goose down feather mattresses and pillows. She kept a gaggle of geese on hand all the time. They make great watch....er... guard animals too. They would chase me all over the place. They bite hard too! I hated those things!

I saw a show on tv once about guard geese. There was a castle somewhere in Europe that used them. They would attack an intruder in an instant. They stick together also!
