From the creator of the Impromptu Invisible deck, Emma Wooding brings The Signal.
The Signal is a detailed routine where the spectator thinks of a dream, after giving a small reading the performer then begins to divine the dream by giving specific details that no one other than the spectator would know. After giving specific details the performer divines the dream. In this document I cover, - The basic routine. - The Lines principle. - The Scroll principle. - Wrap lines. - How to give a quick and simple reading. Whether you are a pro that performs back to back gigs or a beginner who just performs to their family, you are going to love this routine. The Signal is, 100% sure fire, easy to do, fun, fits easily into your wallet, no odd anagrams, can be performed surrounded in any scenario, no DR or NW. "Imagine being able to sit down with someone and, after a few short moments, describe their dreams for them in detail and not only that, interpret those dreams so they make sense to the volunteer? This is the gift that Emma gives you in this remarkable release". - Paul Voodini “Emma, I now have this trick in my wallet for those “Show me a trick” moment. I really like the plot and the method works! Nice.” - Olivier Boës (creator of 10S Star Sign Divination). http://www.penguinmagic.com/p/10746 |

Hello,
This sounds intriguing. Could you give a more complete description of how the effect actually looks? |

I'm so glad you have an interest in it. The routine from the spectators point of view is this.
The spectator is asked to think of a dream, the performer then explains how they are able to tell the spectator why they dreamt the dream without asking the spectator what the dream is. The performer then goes through a journey with the spectator, helping them figure out why they dreamt the dream. After explaining to the spectator why they dreamt the dream the performer then is able to give a small reading, picking up minute details about their personality that they thought no one would ever know. After the reading the performer immediately begins to pick up small minute details about their dream, at the very end the performer can divine the thought of dream. This routine isn't propless however it isn't bulky, when you make your gimmick, it's made for life an you can carry it in your pocket or wallet. I might add, divining the minute specific details can be done propless and that itself is a powerful routine. I hope this helps. |

I am guessing the spectator has dreams that they have to chose from?

Bought it but not sure how to write 12 dreams on single businuesscard without writing tiny letters no one can read?!
@rnk: they can choose from 24 dreams |

@RNK - They have a choice from a bunch of dreams however potentially it can be done without the list of 12 dreams on both sides.
@SimonTheSorcerer - For me I found it really easy to write it on my business card in a portrait angle. However if you have trouble writing it at that size, my suggestion is maybe grab a piece of paper and cut it to your preferred length. I hope this helps!!! Many thanks, Emma. |

Or get a spectator to think of one of their latest dreams they had, write it down, use one of the many p#$ks out there and divine it. I wonder what the advantages of this routine are over the others I previously mentioned? RNK

@RNK - What the Signal can add to a simple P($K routine is that you learn a better way to divine the dream than just "this is flying". Ontop of that if you want to go down that route, you can make it more deceptive by revealing minute details about the dream BEFORE the p&&k.
Hope this helps Many thanks, Emma. |

I kind of see your point but a p@#k when done correctly is something that the participating didn't know happened anyway. I also think that whatever method you're using to Divine something you don't always want to Divine it correctly and bluntly in the first place. You always want to reveal parts of the dream and build up to the moment of the final reveal.

Exactly! However this routine is more about the presentation and the journey you experience with the spectator which is what sets it apart from a trick where you can just p**k a billet and move on.

Sounds a lot like Dreamweaver by Paul Carnazzo .

@mr. Dural - No Dreamweaver by Paul Carnazzo has a completely different method than The Signal.

Even I thought this looked similar to Dreamweaver. Since that is cleared now, let me say this also felt like Zodiac Gods by Unknown Mentalist - items on both sides and all.
I'm sure this should work with any 24 items on both sides of a card - not just dreams. Hope that is the case.
It is better to be trusted than liked.

Is this similar in method to a routine by Art Vanderlay named 'The Memory Of Trees' featured in the book 'Planes Mistaken For Stars'?

@nevermind - This routine could work with anything not just dreams.

The information gathering method is a good take on a classic (that has been used to get zodiac signs, birthdays, etc), you could also use a basic stack or a peek if you want, the strength of the routine being (I believe) in the :
"after giving a small reading the performer then begins to divine the dream by giving specific details that no one other than the spectator would know" |

Seems interesting...but will wait for some actual reviews.
There is no better freedom than choice and no better choice than freedom.
