I’m trying to decide which sven product To get that looks the most inconspicuous and has the least likelihood of riffling through from the spectator. I like the K*D design, but that wording is kind of strange? has anyone else thought the same? I like the sticky notes but I wonder if when I go through those to set it up and the individual notes are bent upwards naturally, if that would possibly cause a fail or reveal of the method.

I'm not sure an either/or is there right way to look at this. The greatest appeal of the Sven Pads is there are many different variations for many different uses and performance situations and opportunities.
You might be better served asking which SP is best for the/each individual routine or effect you are creating and using it for. You may soon see one size does not fit all. That is the greatest appeal of this line of products is you have many looks and options to select from, each with their own benefits, appeal and advantages. |

Exactly. The most important thing to prevent any issues is to give clear and direct instructions to your participants. Also, any time you are going to put a gimmicked prop in a spectators hand, you want to choose someone who is friendly and compliant. If you notice someone has a more 'challenging' attitude, don't put SP in their hands.
Beyond that, choose a pad that feels the most natural to you, i.e. something that looks like something you might use normally. I wouldn't worry about the wording or logo too much, most people don't even notice that sort of thing. If you like the look of the post it pad, you can rest assured that it works fine if you set it up correctly.

Thanks everyone I appreciate the help, you’re right i’m probably complicating an uncomplicated manner lol. I will be using it with the patter of me waking up in the middle of the night and jotting down parts of my dreams, ect. so in reality I would probably be using a notepad and not flipping through sticky notes for that. i’ll just have to trust that people won’t questionas the KoD design on the front.

This is Brett Barry - the creator of the genuine SvenPads®️.
The KoD pad is the most inconspicuous - and our best selling pad worldwide. It appears to be a cheap spiral notepad - it’s never suspected unless you call attention to it. I also recommend the Sven Notes post-it’s style. Watch the included video links to learn the “eye to eye” forcing technique suggested by Lior Manor.

I use the mini’s and actually have one in my vehicle at all times for impromptu situations. It’s always ready and is just an innocent looking note pad with some dreams written inside. I’ve used them in all kinds of performances and no one has ever made a comment about them. Best purchase I have made in years.

Very nice Jamie, Having something at all times is important, and an easy to perform hard hitter like this must make it a breeze.

While we're on Sven pads, Here's a question for Sven pad owners like myself....how do you justify using it? Unless you're on stage, which I'm not, I find it maybe sticks out having this pre prepared pad of random words for someone to choose one. I mean it works great but in what way and place do you use yours?

My initial plan is using them with a theme based halloween presentation involving me jotting things down from dreams/nightmares i’ve been having, and immersing the spectators in a murder mystery plot to make the notes justified, and layering it to where the pads aren’t even thought of at the end. them picking from a pad won’t even be remembered ( if everything goes as planned)

Cool, so are you going to fill out the pad to a degree as you go? Like "some one give me a word please.. knife...another...axe" etc etc?
Also is this like a presentation in your living room or something and everyone knows, hey he's gonna do some stuff |

No, more along the lines of selling a plot of waking up and writing thoughts down when I have nightmares, the thoughts will already by in the pads. it’s a custom presentation I have an idea for. 💡

I have two, one in which is used for a DD. There’s so many ways to present what you are doing to justify it. With my DD, it’s a straight to the point routine. No one questions it as they select a drawing and the presentation of revealing it sells the effect.

Hi Jamie,,
Perhaps I am ( I do tend to overthink! ) however the reason I ask is because recently when asked to do something at a friends house, I pulled the Sven pad from my bag and got pelters of "oh yeah peter and his bag of tricks, here is something I just happened to have on me!" kind of went around the table and I thought...crap! I still used it ( I write different actions on mine, jumping , punching etc etc and "muscle read" the action they are thinking of over and over ) but after I was asked, "hey can I see that pad?" I did the flip through and so dodged but it rasied a red flag in my head. |

That’s probably because they are friends and are conditioned that most of what you do are more “magic “ then mind reading. Performing for regular friends/family can be tough because of this. Every time I’ve used the pad has been on random people so to them, I’m just a mind reader and not known to do tricks which is the advantage. With the pad, you would need to present it properly to them. For my dd, I present it as a bunch of random drawings but they are images that are easy for us to visualize which is important for what’s about to happen. Not my exact presentation but close to along that.

Next time, try to perform this on your terms and pulling it out of your pocket and pattering around a story of why you have been taking notes, and maybe even pretend to make a note in the pad and then ask them if they can help you figure something out. going into it that way may draw less attention to the pad, and more attention to your performance. |

I am wondering why a pair of mini pads with black covers cost much less per pad than the KOD? Granted, they are smaller but not that much so. Is there a difference in the quality of the two different pads? On the surface it seems like there is more bang for your buck with the minis.

So, I have been informed that the KOD pads are made of much better quality so that is what I ordered.....one for now, maybe more in the future as I can think of several possible uses for such a utiliy.
