To me it looks like a more basic physic phenomenon we're just talking about at school.
But I think it's exposure if I said what it's called, so I won't. |

I'd like to know if it's the same principle as the AS SEEN ON TV black plate they use to sell to help defrost meat in minutes...remember it?

MagicBrent, I do remember that "As Seen On TV " item. I wonder if it realy worked?

How about having a drinks coaster made out of the same material as the block plus a number of identical looking but ungimmicked coasters? These could easily be rung in in a restaurant situation. You could offer to endow one of the people at the table with "special powers" - slip a napkin under their coaster to catch the drips and away you go.

Chris, what you saw on tv, actually worked like anything else that you could use!

Has anyone purchased and used this? Sure would like to know if it's any good.
Thanks in advance, Gerard |

I have purchased it but I have not yet used it in a performance. From playing with it, it works exactly as described.
I suspect that for people knowledgable in physics, the effect is inconsequential. For others - and I am included in this group - it is fascinating. Gianni |

This effect is self working and fantastic! The Black squares are not made of the same material so you shouldn't let the spectator hold or touch both of them. Usually the heat is only on the one the ice is melting on and when I say the heat is on, no pun intended! There is no heat. As a matter of fact the one the ice is melting on is colder than the other! I really like this a lot. Well worth the cost. I paid 45.00 for mine. A great effect if presented properly! From time to time you may have to spray dull flat black paint on the one that causes the melting but don't let that stop you from purchasing a great effect!

Wow Oombob,
Those actually look even better then the ones that come with the trick. Great tip. However, I beleive the melting speeds are a little faster on the magic trick. I'll pick up a set from "TeacherSource" and compare the two.

Hocus Pocus doesn't seem to have it anymore. Anyone else carry it?
