URGHH! Eat licorice?!?!

Can't I just eat the live wires instead?

I do like the licorice idea for the ease of cutting it. You'd need one heck of a pair of scissors to try and cut genuine wire.

This got me thinking though...

Perhaps using a pair of wire cutters instead of scissors would be a more realistic way of cutting the wire (even with rubber or licorice)

Also, I have seen some performers who use a cap exploder attached to the clippers which the hold up the mike after cutting. There is an almightly bang and some smoke. Its scarier and with some good acting looks more real then a bunch of showly sparks.

I have seen spark rings give a better effect when the wire is cut.

The scissors I have used for years are the Claus Shears #4258. You can get them at craft stores in the florist area. They will cut thin wires.

I like Whit's idea of the vacuum cleaner belt though the tubing might be cheaper. And the good old elastic pull on the loop still works.

The good old fuken ring ads a lot to the sparking of the wire when cut.

This is a good bit especially when you have been tapped to emcee something.
