I just found out about this magazine via another thread and I see that many issues are available at Lybrary for not too much money.
Could anybody recommend a few (2 to 6) issues that are particularly good for mentalism and/or bizarre effects. please?

Unfortunately there is no separate index as there is for The Wizard, The Magic Wand, and other massive periodicals. Magigram is approximately 25,000 pages (!) and while there's LOTS of material, I haven't seen any themed issues. Others have dived in and produced resources FROM the journal, most notably Aldo Colombini. Magigram is so massive that you almost have to buy the whole thing. When I bought it about nine years ago it cost I believe 150 USD for the DVD. I just checked Lybrary.com and the DVD is now only 70USD. If you have the cash, it's worth the price provided you don't mind jumping in to this massive resource. Now, that being said, I don't think you will find much in the way of bizarre magick in Magigram compared to journals such as Bascom Jones MAGICK or Lee Earle's SYZYGY (I ALWAYS mess up the spelling). Mentaism? Yes. You might also want to check Richard Kaufman's site. I THINK he sells SEANCE which is devoted to bizarre magick as is The Compleat Invocation. Generally, Magigram is an important journal. I just wish I could offer some suggestions but it's really just ridiculously vast. Best of luck!!! EDIT: I just found The Complete Oracle on Lybrary.com. It is completely bizarre magick and is only 35 USD!!! I might have to get this at some point once my life gets settled. https://www.lybrary.com/the-complete-oracle-p-217810.html Check out the index!! There is even a "bizarre" Cups and Balls routine by the master Bill Palmer. |

Many thanks Vlad for the valuable info. If it's that vast then I will just have to plunge in and buy a few at random from Lybrary, which I will do asap. I appreciate the other 'leads' too.

And more is on the way. Just working on one that is heavy on mentalism edited by one of the greats ...

Magigram had some excellent material. It includes, for example, a chapter by chapter serialisation of "Person to Person" by Lewis Jones (vols 21-22), essential reading if you want to perform telephone mind reading, both solo and with a partner. It's probably sensible to go for the whole set rather than individual issues.
