Here you go then... ULTERIOR...
http://www.lulu.com/spotlight/uncle90 Yes, it uses two old school mentalism "things", but in different ways. There's also lots of changes and additions too. What is it? Its for close-up only, or rather, I only do close-up performances. SOmeone who has read it and does stage work has said they will be using though. Go figure. Anyway, people will see you and a bunch of blank business cards in your hand, all tied up with a ribbon or rubber band. You will also have a pencil or marker. You can show 14 of those business cards, and they will have certain words and imagery on one side of them (Mr. Stebbins is not invited). You can use these for standard design dupe work, or word reveals (or, as jumping off points into other things). You can use them for readings too. You can also use them as a means to do a close-up Q&A. You will also be able to talk about what their question is before they start writing it down and are genuinely just formulating that question in their mind. You can also p**k information using the bunch of business cards and there's also the opportunity for a couple of other more nefarious things with the cards too. Including being able to pull out from the cards a single card from around the centre with a word, number, or starsign clearly written on it. I'll try and answer what I can without giving anything away. There's a thread downstairs too if that helps. You'll need 50 posts. http://www.themagiccafe.com/forums/viewt......&start=0 How would someone argumentative describe it? "Oh, its just ODDS by Osterlind and the other thing, well...its a step back!" They'd be wrong on both counts, cos it doesn't work nor look like ODDS. And the other thing, well, its not a step back, its an alternative with a single bonus (in my opinion). DIY? Yup. Some kind of sharp cutting implement for some of it is required. It'll take you about 20 minutes from start to finish. And if you can't draw, I give you a site to grab the needed drawings/icons from for free. And I also show you those items one by one so you can see exactly what they should look like. Can you give some more detail? No. Alright then. Erm….its a handy pocket sized mini toolkit for doing a few mentalism based things. I think it gives you variety and opportunity to play it how it best suits you. What's the bad news? It requires a tiny amount of memory work. And my memory is shocking and I can do it. YOu can too. Especially if you decide to cr*b it. 14 things. And I give you three ways of doing it. You also need to be trusted with a sharp implement to make the thing. That's it. That's it...thanks for reading. PLEASE DO NOT BUY IT IF YOU HAVE NOT READ THE STANDARD MENTALISM TEXTS

I've had a chance to read this and I think it's a great idea. It's a small packet of cards that can offer a number of different effects as well as facilitate readings.
It has a bit of a 'Swiss Army Knife' appeal - you can do a design duplication, a word revelation, you can do readings, or combination thereof. It's kind of hard to get more specific without saying how it works, but it's clever and flexible. There is a little bit of memory work, but Iain's mnemonics make it super easy. The second half deals with Iain's take on a classic p**k method, and it's very practical. It tackles a common issue with said method and makes it more deceptive. I guess it would be good to say that the two methods can be combined for an extra multi-purpose stack, or can be utilized separately if you prefer. You guys should probably know by now that Iain releases quality material and this is no exception.
