Got mine today and love the simplicity of it.
Gimmick works fine but feel could have been priced around £19.99 |

I made my own one of these after they left the instructional up for viewing (I think it's been removed since, but I accessed it via their website.) I really enjoy this a lot. I will review each of the effects separately before giving the total product a review.
1. Shock: With this marker, your spectator will feel an electric shock, even though there are no electronics in the marker.~ This is super clever, it feels just like a shock, even though there are no electronics. A great way to complete the circuit and reveal their card 5/5 2. Balance: You can balance your marker in impossible way, defying gravity! ~ This is my least favorite on the download. Great for a promo shot or instagram video, but I personally don't find this one practical as there is a little too much set up. Once you are set up the visual is nice, just a little too messy for my taste. 2/5 3. Card Ninja: With static electricity and your marker, you will find spectator's card. The card itself flies out from the pack directly into your hand. ~This is kind of like the haunted pack and card stab mixed together. I really enjoy this one but it takes a little practice to get it right (not a hard move, just a little knacky). I also wonder if the mental prediction routine method could be applied to this as well to make it a little easier..... 5/5 4. Freezing Time: You can stop time at any moment, and a ring will not fall from the marker.~ Another one of my favorites. There is a little set up, but easily covered. The visual on this one is very very good. 5/5 5. Telekinesis: Using telekinesis, you can knock off different small objects from your marker at any time. ~ This one reminds me of good l**p work. It is a little knacky to get it to shoot all the way off the sharpie, but I find if I put it about half way on, it shoots it all the way off. 4/5 6. Mental Prediction: You will learn how to read your spectator's mind. You will know, for certain, which city they will choose.~ This one's super super clever. You could apply this in a lot of different ways and really make it play big. 5/5 7. Magnetic: You can magnetize different small objects, enabling them to stick to your marker. ~Also a clever routine. You might be a little limited with the objects you can use, but I haven't messed around with it enough.Works great with flat objects. A little bit of a set up involved, but can be done before performance. 4/5 All in all, I think this is one of my favorite products of the year. It's really a utility advice, and you could have quite the act or part of an act using this. The reset is instant, and if your gimmick breaks,it is easily replaceable. 5/5 for the complete product. If you have any questions let me know (: |

Ok I get you can review the effects but your pen may not function as efficiently as theirs, their one might have a better build quality? Yours could have a better build quality. And just because something is there and can be taken doesn't make it OK to take it. I believe the word is theft. |

Hi Dave, the product was posted in the forum so didn't really consider it as theft. If it was posted there by mistake, I apologize for clicking the link and accessing it, I personally thought it was posted to help us make the decision if we wanted to make the purchase or not. I also made the purchase so I will be able to comment on the gimmick quality and I should have it soon.

FANTASTIC REVIEW, CODY! Thank You for taking the time to share. It is good to know you were able to make one up showing that if the gimmick breaks a repair is possible. Your review has definitely helped my decision whether or not to purchase.

Thank You, yes I got to see that while the video was still posted.
Strange that it has sold out at Penguin, only has one review and is listed at #16 (9/26 6:30 PM) on their Bestsellers list.

Why would you post the video that means your sales would be potentially reduced? The fact that it was the creators or sellers that (accidentally) put the whole video up is irrelevant - but slightly amusing! If an unscrupulous person bought it then put the video up say on youtube and not the inventor/manufacturer, then would you have made one? Of course, the fact that you have bought it means you are entitled to make it (if the video has the instructions to make it from scratch). I was not party to that information to start with though. But yes very reassuring that it can be repaired/make a replacement easily. I have ordered based on your review so thanks for that. Maybe they deliberately released it for a short time to get a review -who knows (well they do of course.) |

Received mine. It is pretty great overall. A nice low tech way to create the illusion of an electric shock and static electricity/PK like effects.
That said, the special something snapped on mine almost immediately while practicing with it (following the instructions accordingly, no improper use). That's kind of annoying. I haven't yet changed the special something to replace it...while not hard, it does look like it's going to be a pain. And I'm definitely not looking forward to it. Hopefully it was a fluke and next time it will last longer before the special something needs replacing. I have to say though that having a ring, or what not, slide on it repeatedly does appear to strip the thing pretty easily. So I hope that it's not something that will require constant replacing. If that's the case, it will become more trouble that its worth. All in all...a very cool prop. Time will tell if constant replacing is a pre requisite. |

Wait, I need a special something?

Trying not to expose but the special something is self contained within the very low tech mechanics of the sharpie. It broke on mine immediately.
The video explains how to replace it and provides you the materials to do it. Don't get me wrong...I'm not expecting it never to break. I just hope it breaking on me after 4-5 practice attempts is a fluke. And that it will last longer after I get around to replacing it. Otherwise, the prop just isn't worth it. |

^ I'll' try to answer so I don't expose anything....
The trailer said, there are no electronics. And it's true. There are absolutely no electronics. And to quote myself...this is "A nice low tech way to create the illusion of an electric shock"..and Ill add to it..the sensation of an electric shock. |

Also got mine in the mail today, unfortunately, mine also broke right after use. Luckily it's not hard to replace, takes about a minute to fix. (also not hard to make an extra unit) For anyone that purchased, and can show me a proof of purchase, I can show you an easier way to replace. It adds a slight discrepancy, but I haven't been called out in my performances thus far with it. Despite the product having minor problems out of the box, I still highly recommend this product and reiterate my review above.

Also need to mention they give you a lot of supplies to fix your gimmick just in case, which is nice that you don't need an additional items.

Absolutely NOT what I was expecting. I think when we research and buy a new trick now knowing how it works we expect it to work to our liking.
Overall a bit disappointed really. |
