Out Of The Blue is a fiendish effect. It features an instant vanish and an impossible location reveal that brings TV-style reactions to your everyday audience.
Effect: The magician shows a deck of Bicycle cards - half are red, and half are blue. After showing the blue cards, one spectator holds onto these blue cards. A second spectator fairly selects a card from the remaining red cards. Their card INSTANTLY... and we mean INSTANTLY... VANISHES from the red deck! The first spectator then spreads through the blue cards that the magician has never touched, to find ONE red backed card FACE DOWN. They turn it over to reveal it is the SELECTED CARD! Created by James Anthony. Not only is Out Of The Blue simple to perform and almost self-working, it is a routine you could instantly add to your professional repertoire. * Easy to perform * Quick reset * Specially printed Bicycle gaffs * Multiple effects * Bring TV-style magic to your audience More info: https://www.murphysmagic.com/Product.aspx?id=61863 Best regards, Titanas

I can think of a couple of ways to achieve this effect.
One method would be great but the other would give buyers remorse If I could be sure it was the better method I would buy immediately. |

That looks pretty clean. Also looks ultra magical and simple to perform.
The difficult must become easy, the easy beautiful and the beautiful magical.

Looks temptingly "uncomplicated."

It looks to be using half of a Destiny Deck, in which case it's the same force card each time.

This is mostly true (obviously) in cases involving gimmicks where even if the gimmick is known, it's easier to buy it rather than setup/make your own. But I've been realizing there have been times when I've had buyers' remorse that would have been avoided if the method was explained... but many other times where finding out the method made me more eager to purchase the gimmick. Anyway, on this one, I have some ideas on how I'd do this effect, but not sure they're as clean as it looks in the video. |

Does anyone know if you are limited to the same force card every time?

All you need is two decks of cards and some SF spray.

I have had this for quite some time and it’s been one of my favorite card effects this year. Really easy to do- the deck does all the work for you and it gets very good reactions. There is no roughing or sticky stuff either. The gimmicked deck can only be used for this effect, but that should be obvious regardless of the method since it’s half blue and half red, which also provides the necessary justification to switch decks openly. The only potential downside is it will be the same card every performance, but I don’t see that as an issue as plenty of effects are this way. If you like the performances in the trailer, you should get this- I strongly recommend it.

The effect looks nice but at least to me the method looks quite obvious. From the video I guess there can be just one card to be forced (the deck forces the card itself) and apparently on the blue side you shouldn’t need any sticky stuff. I can think many of you already own this kind of deck. I ll pass on this.

Ok. Just realised any card can be chosen (26) which is a big bonus. Thought you had to force a single gaffed card. I’m deffo getting this when it arrives over the pond. In fact it’s probably already here considering James is English.

No roughing involved?
Now I'm even more intrigued.
