I think the rationale for using the random number generator is to not psychologically influence them, or you can re hash as an influence on when they stop... the concept of the number app interests me a lot. its like a KK without the OBO. my mind is really ticking here lol

I’m a big Astor fan...those unfamiliar with Astor should not base your buying decisions on his demos. I happen to think they’re “charming”, for lack of a better descriptive word. But I also think the man consistently puts out very clever effects. Went to buy from Alakazam and it’s sold out.
Darn it. |

I think the number generator looks super fair and is a piece of cake to justify. I can’t imagine anyone having a difficult time selling a plausible rationale for it, or any spectator finding anything suspicious with it.
I think it would create interest by itself and take away any pressure a spectator may feel trying to “choose” the correct number. Some shyer specs do feel put on the spot to name a number, especially if in front of a group. The generator requires very little thought on the part of the spec but at the same time seems totally fair and random. I doubt anyone would suspect the spec was on it as sometimes happens if just naming a number. Overall, I like this entire effect quite a lot. |

The last 2 posts have summed this up beautifully . Astor is a creative genius and this effect is no exception I can assure you

Is the number generator legit IE every number can be stopped at as I just noticed on the trailer that 14 and 15 where stopped on so it doesn't work like I originally thought it worked which was what impressed me the most lol

Another great thing with this is if you close the app after the effect , If called upon you could reopen it to let sceptics try and succeed in getting the other numbers 😉😉

On the fence about this one. Unable to decide, somehow.

Just got this from Alakazam. I think it’s a really cool version of this effect.
Love the number generator. I’m sure there are other possible uses for it as well. Extremely well made prop. Astor has put out some truly diabolically clever routines and this is another one. |

Totally agree Videoman and the deck is also superbly made as well and has an extra something going for it that is rarely ever seen

Have a question for anyone who owns this.
When I scan the QR code for the counter, I only end up at a website with the counter. Is there an actual app I am supposed to be able to install on my phone? |

Hi dooblehorn I am pretty sure you just save that to your home page ie phone screen 🙂

Like others on here have mentioned.. If the app is not required, then why bother? I don't get the advantage of using the app! Why not just get them to name a number (if it's really a free choice!). As I do a lot of table hopping magic, can it be a different number each time? If I'm working a table and do this trick and the random number is 15, then I move to the next table, if it's 15 again, the people on the other table will know how it works...surely?
Like the idea, but don't want to purchase if I can't use it for work. |

I have not had a chance to play with it, but do not believe it’s the same number each time.

Ok, I have watched the demo one single time.
And then asked myself: really? Here's what bothers me: - the use of an unjustified app (probably to only end up on odd numbers?). Why use technology for something so basic like calling out a number? Especially as it is supposed to be a free choice? - the display of just the previous and next card is one of the major weaknesses in a K....n deck. However, the use of a longitudinal Svengali (sorry, I think it's obvious hence no spoiler) is no remedy as it still looks... weird. - I don't get the extra kicker with the adhesive on the chosen card because imho it weakens the effect: one can almost hear the too-perfect-theory screaming loudly!! I don't know how to put it but this effect is sort of 1980's style for me - except for the phone of course. It's dusty and old-fashioned in its self-defined goals. Will happily pass.
