Ok, I purchased one of those super gadgets (pk 10) and now wonder if I should use it to perform a few "ghostly" effects. I respect it's ability to wipe out music, computer and generally mess up other digital materials, so how do you use it wisely without problems? Is it better to anchor it beneath the table and always know it's whereabouts? Or do you use a smaller version and play it closer to the vest?

Plan very carefully, rehearse, use a surround metal shield like you would for mailing.
PK work (when you carry one) can hook you up to metal unexpectadly too. Charles Gaucci has a greeat set of solutions for some of this problem. GC

Also, do NOT carry one of those on planes! Even if you check it in, the magnet will wreak havoc with the imaging equipment of some of the airports. They'll probably take it away. Just Fedex it instead.

So, it looks obvious that the stronger units need to be stationary, and you do the stunts over it, such as a table top, or jewelry box, etc? Will it mess with sitteres watches, if too close?

Be careful with surround metals, it will enable the gauss field to be enlarged a bit, does not make it more powerful, just increases the field size.
you can wear these in different locations, get away from the idea of only your hands....... consider that a couple of thumb tacks, or small nails of the right material under a surface gives you a fast attachment and remove method, in case anyone tried to sneak a peek under your work surface. <thumbtacks let you be more portable and flexible in the surface you use----anywhere?!> when travelling with them, check with the airlines or carriers first, package seperately, and in an openable package....labeled correctly! and never forget that more than one method of the same effect can be a useful thing!

Only take it in the airport if you want to screw up the metal detector. HEHEH. (I dunno if this would work or not, so DON"T try it please)

It ill show up on a package inspection machine, as a possibly suspiscious package- it will set off a metal detector-they work on magnetic resonances- do label clearly, and make people aware-they DO get shipped, and package X-rayed all the time-otherwise you would not have them in your hands! (Mine got shipped, by air! from the supplier)
The key is do you want your luggage exploded, or a trip to the floor in cuffs because you felt like fooling around with the security people? or let them know what you are packing ahead of time, so you can meet any needs they have.

Fortunately, I will do all my pk work within my home state of California. The plane issue is a non issue. Meanwhile, getting around the seance table without attracting stray metal objects and stopping people's watches...that's the challenge.

Why don't you keep the magnet in a non-magnetic metal box in your pocket until use, this would prevent 'havoc at the seance table'

If you have the magnet in a non-magnetic box, the magnetic field will still penetrate the box, and it will still attach itself to everything magnetic in the neighborhood. A non-magnetic box is not a shield. In fact, some kinds of metals will alter the field. For example, copper shapes the magnetic field like pole pieces, in a way. And an aluminum box is about as transparent magnetically as plastic.
I don't know of any "anti-magnetic" container. When they ship magnets, they usually put them in a special steel box, but the field will still leak out of it.

Well then, depending on the spirits you are trying to contact you have a few options:
If of a faery nature, they do not like iron or steel per the legends-suggest removal. consider that some spirits may be uncomfortable with a time device, (many stories form the use of time to trap a spirit, or the midnight chime, etc.) make a production of removing all clocks form the room, then, "Oh yes, your watches please also" Also, for the old ESTer's, Time is not a factor for this contact, please remove the distractions of your watches, clocks or timepieces, as tey will only hinder our work here tonight!-provide a secure chest or trunk (having someone outside the room with access to move a few watchands, or otherwise alter the time if they are able, not on all, but just a few, could be an interesting effect as well.....

And make sure not to get one anywhere near your credit card, it will completly break it

As far as a CD boombox, how far away should it be positioned, before the Super PK Micro 10 begins to affect it?
Some say ten feet. Is that realistic?

I enjoy the PK, but I had to get two nested magnetic (i.e. iron/steel) boxes to carry it in. Put the unit in the small box, wrapped in bubble wrap or equivalent, then wrap the box in bubble wrap and put it into the larger box. (The field can be shaped but not blocked.) This allowed me to carry it on two international flights without problem. (In packed luggage, not carry-on.)

I'm interested in more information about shaping the field. I'm reasonably technically literate, having a degree in electronics, but it would still need to be in understandable terms. Bill- you said copper shapes the field like "pole pieces"....
Likewise, I have discovered on my own the odd effect that magnets can have in *motion* with aluminum- the braking effect- I just saw an effect being marketed that sounds very much like it employs this idea. Who are the magnet gurus here that might have some ideas regarding the shaping of the field to extend its effect in one direction whilst minimizing it in another, etc... Thanks. Dave |
