I "checked this out immediately" and wondered afterwards why I did.
Sorry, not my cup of tea.

Is this like Tom Elderfields effect in his at the table lecture? Looks like the same workings, but I can't say as I don't have theirs.

After seeing the demo for this, I can only think it is almost identical to something a friend was playing with years ago. If it is the same (and I'm sure it is) It has great potential. I'm looking forward to getting mine!

I’m just wondering if there’s a lot of DIY for the various effects or if the gimmicks do most of the work with just a little preparation?

However, that's only really to let you start playing with it right away and to get your creative juices flowing so to speak. I found it interesting to note that on the trailer, the first effect shown is the vanish of a playing card into the deck. Personally, that's my favourite use case for it and I would guess the most popular presentation. For each type of vanish there is a little prep to set up the item to work with the gimmick. However, once that's done, you can 'rinse and repeat' as often as you wish. Here's the feature points from the product description and how true or false they are: Multiple vanishes with various everyday objects - True, You need to set up the gimmick for each type of vanish, so prep beforehand here. Two handmade gimmicks included - True BUT In the demo you see 3 or more items vanish. you would need more than one pack to do this though. Painfully easy to do - True. Ready to perform out of the box - Yes for the candy vanish. see my very rough and ready demo vid in this thread. No flaps, no pulls, no magnets, no strings, no clothing restrictions - True The most visual trick you will do - Only you can answer that one.... Hope this helps you Dominic

Great thanks Dom. Just to clarify once prepared is the gimmick only able to be used to whichever effect you choose or can you easily switch out to perform a different one? Thanks.

It looks awful. Can’t believe anyone is interested in this.

If you want to vanish more than 2 items at a time, you will need more than one pack. Once a gimmick is set up for an item (The playing card that vanishes for example) you can keep using that as long as you like, so you can repeat it over and over again. If you decide to change the effect and vanish a different item, you will need to install the gimmick into that item before you perform. It's easy and the video tutorial will show you lots of ways to do this. So... yes you can reuse the gimmick over and over again and change items, but you will need to set up each new item. Hope this helps Dominic

I don't underssnd why some say it looks "awful." To me it looks it looks as visual as it gets. Do tell: Where does the awful part come in?
The difficult must become easy, the easy beautiful and the beautiful magical.
