Art of Play--the company that released a replica of the gold Peau Doux deck used by Cardini--is now offering a replica of the silver Peau Doux deck. The gold decks sold out quickly, so if there are any of the silver decks left at Art of Play, you may want to try ordering them now. They are sure to be collectors' items.

It is to bad Art of Play knows nothing about magic manipulation decks. Note, they say they made them poker size. Why on earth, Poker size does not allow good large fans like Bridge size cards. I also note they did not use a linen finish card stock. This will not hold Fanning Powder as well, on a smooth card stock.
Of course I realize some none experienced will disagree, but that is only my opinion of course, from years on working with dozens Fanning Decks. I'm sure collectors will like displaying them in their collection. |

Below is a link that I hope will take you to a jpeg of the silver Art of Play Peau Doux decks. I treated it by putting it in a double-walled paper lunch bag with a few shakes of fanning powder and then closing up the bag and shaking vigorously.
I agree with Bill Hegbli that the decision to make the deck poker-sized is regrettable. The original Peau Doux decks were bridge-size, as was also the Park Avenue fanning decks that Cardini used before he discovered the Peau Doux in a Walgreen's store. The deck makes a great thumb fan, but I find pressure fans for me at least to be rather difficult/nearly impossible. Maybe in my old age my fingers aren't as strong as they were back in the 60's :-) Most of the great card manipulators of the past and present--Cardini, Channing Pollock, Johnny Hart, etc--used bridge-sized decks. As I mentioned in my facebook review, for some reason Art of Play and/or Peter Pitchford opted to use a sans-serif font for the indices of the court cards, and I find that a little odd. ----- Amado "Sonny" Narvaez https://scontent.forf1-1.fna.fbcdn.net/v......5C681EF9
