It has nothing to do with the effect, or the creator, and 100% the online shop (the fact that I've weighed into this discussion is proof that I really, really like the effect). Considering that I live on the other side of the world, the price of the product goes up by at least a third, and sometimes by more depending on the border. This product costs me $65 minimum. I'm not going to even factor in refills. If this was being distributed through penguin, this product would qualify for free shipping (well I'd spend a dollar on something else on their website to qualify for it). pengiun isn't the only dealer with an offer like this, the are Uk dealers who offer free world wide shipping on their products. My first post was rushed, but simply put: If it's possible to get ahold of the needed items on my own, I'll ALWAYS prefer a download only option when it comes to E and Theory 11. This isn't an unheard of concept, even the one man shop of Paul Carnazzo offers a download only option on products where you can source the material yourself (PAC stack). The second half of my post was worded incorrectly, so no Tom, I wouldn't make a download of this myself. I was trying to say "offer this as a download only". For example (and this question isn't directed at you Tom): does the video explain what type of thread it is? So that if I wanted to avoid further charges down the road I wouldn't need refills. I'd go and get some myself. Better yet, does the video explain where to purchase the thread? If both of these requirements are met, I think the product might be worth the extra $15. If this info isn't provided, then the cost goes up by an arm and leg purely due to shipping. That said, you've linked us to the creators own website. I will likely go there and buy it from him now. So thanks for that. It will probably be cheaper because he prices it as EURO, meaning shipping will be cheaper, and he gave us a full uncut performance. |

What is interesting is that the same effect sold on the creators website has no mention of gimmicks. Just the DVD. So it’s obvious that the required thread and dust is easily available.
However, having said that, including the gimmicks, despite costing mere pennies, allows the cost to sky rocket. |

Can someone in the know please clarify whether this PDF teaches the method E are selling? It seems to be the case but the wording in the description about "the history of the gypsy thread" confuses me slightly. |

Well spotted. Half price. Plus the thread as an optional purchase. I would suggest holding out on the thread until you’ve read the pdf.

While Javi's methodology may be unique, for me anyway, it lacked the magical and mystical aura surrounding Eugene Burger's performance. Having spectator's break the thread in a haphazard way and putting it in the middle of the table ruins the magical, dramatic pace that can be accomplished with the magi breaking the thread. It becomes more of a puzzle and much less enchanting. IMHO.

Thanks for the full performance video! The handling is super clean and the performance very smooth (except for the kicker's final switch). The scripting is non-existent, but the handling could (at least partially) be adapted to the superior presentations of Burger (also by using a candle, if available) and Vince Mendoza. Well done!

Hello everyone,
I decided to answer my own question and buy the PDF directly from Javi Benitez. It is roughly half the price of the E physical product (before shipping, well under half price after), you will receive it instantly, there are no shipping costs to add on, and Javi gets pretty much all of the money (minus PayPal charges). The cost is €24.95 (28.46 USD). So what do you get? A 14 page PDF that explains the handling and execution of the moves, the type of thread which works well for the effect, and how to make the gimmick for the kicker. Firstly, the thread is very easy is to find online.. upon searching google the first link gave me the right thread for €3.99 in my country. I haven't looked at physical stores yet but I'll be doing that tomorrow. Secondly the teaching of the powder gimmick is a "do it at home job", I am 99.9% sure you all have what is needed to create this in 10 mins. If you don't have what's needed (I'd be shocked if you don't) you can pop over to your local store to get the required items. The "construction" is easy enough, with the only downside being that certain instructions being a tad unclear.. probably due to them being written by Javi directly (who is a native Spanish speaker). I'll be emailing Javi directly just to clarify certain terms. But in the meantime trying it out myself. The effect itself is great, well routined, and as you can see from the full performance video on his website, very fooling. He also supplies you will several different ways to present the routine, as well as how to perform the effect in many different scenarios (stand up, close up, table hopping). I would recommend to anyone outside of the US to do as I did, you get way better bang for your buck that way. Very satisfied with my purchase. |

Well, this effect looks fantastic to me. I'm a fan of the gypsy/hindu thread and though this presentation lacks a bit of the simple beauty of the original, it increases the impossibility significantly. The fact that your participant breaks and rolls the thread themselves is fantastic, and it looks so, so clean.
To those who have this, how does it compare to the original method in terms of difficulty? |

If we buy the thread, does it come with video instructions or just the pdf?

The thread is just thread on its own. Think of it as a refill. You will need to purchase the PDF in order to gain the secret and handling tips.

Follow the link above to the PDF, and the spool is a suggested item below it. Edit: your link works fine, don't know why it's not working for you. |

I’m asking if the product as a whole comes with video directions. I don’t do well with written ones.
